no sound... but sound?
i like to keep the volume of the game down while listening to music (NOT bytebeat). suddenly, i'm hearing "units aquired" when selling or buying something at any trade post. just the ladies voice, nothing else. i checked... all sound are off. EXCEPT for the trade posts. is there another sound control? other than the two in general?
(it's only been a few weeks, but SOMETHING happened recently)

Safe to say that Telemon's voice has been put back on the "to be fixed" list.

The exosuit screaming at me is definitely making the game unplayable atm. Looking forward for this patch to go live this week.

A fix hasn't made it back onto the current experimental list yet, so we assume they are still working on it. Fingers crossed it is fixed soon, because I agree it is pretty bad.

I'm a bit confused.
The sound for the trading voice, is massively boosted to be painfully loud?
Is that the issue?

All suit voice (units received, extreme sentinel planet extreme sentinel planet extreme sentinel planet extreme sentinel planet, toxic protection falling, etc) is extremely loud and essentially bypassing the user's volume settings and remaining at 100% unless you essentially mute your audio.

OH wow! That is crazy.
I was going to play the game, but not now.
Not until that gets fixed.
Wow.

Also add the moment of landing on the frighter to the list. It was always loud but now it's at its peak
I always figure that's my ship being ripped apart because we never actually go cleanly through the entry into a freighter but crash through the wall below. But yes, ear shattering atm.
I actually don't think it is loud at all. But I have insanely good hearing so I don't put things up very loud.

It feels to me maybe Telamon got slightly louder.

I also have loudness equalization enabled on my speakers so maybe that is doing something?

Maybe it only affects surround sound? I only use stereo with no virtual surround sound or windows sonic.

Reduce SFX to 5% and you will definitely hear the effect

I have vol and music set to 100%.

Hah, that actually could be the best workaround. Set everything else up to the same volume as the bugged suit, then use hardware volume control to get everything back down to a bearable level.

i, unfortunately, can't use a workaround. i like music (mine, not bytebeat). it's all on computer, so.... no muting. so to play the game SILENTLY is important. there is little about nms sounds that you need to alert to.

Windows 10 and 11 should both support volume mixer to set different sound levels for different running apps. Right click the speaker icon in your systray to open volume mixer while NMS is running. Set your NMS to low level, set your media player to the higher level you want.
