If so you will have a blueprint for that specific skeleton in in the build menu. (it looks like the platforms but has a creature name instead)
You only get one. It's just a means to relocate the skeleton
Did you place the skeleton builder and then build a skeleton and left the builder sitting there?
What you want to place, is the actual skeleton itself after it is assembled. It acts like any other decoration (such as glitched objects found on glitched worlds), it's an item in your inventory you can place.
But if it failed to place correctly and disappeared, then that's a bummer.
Anytime I encounter little bugs like that, I just reload and try again, it's very rare that my restore point is any more than a few mins back...
A bit later I've also lost another one skeleton this way. Two previous was okay (one of them was destroyed by me by accident because it had a huge "hitbox" and I've hit X on it instead of a wall... my bad, no complains. almost. building mode is frustrating sometimes.)
last time I've build that thing it has been build EMPTY. I mean, I've constructed a thing, PACKED it, it got into my inventory. Then I've placed it but its instanty empty and I dont have it in my backpack anymore.
Previous one disappeard after I teleported to another base and went back.
I dont understand how it works.
The other is the Restore point. This is only overwritten when you exit your ship (except on derelict freighters, or NPC freighters) and when you use a save point.
The autosave may have saved immediately after you tried to make the skeleton, but the restore point should have been perfectly fine.
Money is just numbers here. You can as well cheat them via save editor, not much difference, really.
Pretty sure all this skeleton thing is purely decorative, there is no point to sell them unless you just started to play the game, then yes, its profitable, kinda.
Anyway, every new update dissapoints me more and more.
Just have 3 game crashes in a row, things disappear, netcode works like sh%t and finally i got stuck flying inside the Nexus (its an old bug actually).
I would have been happy with this update, really, if only it would be playable as intended.
I always wanted to make a museum-like base in NMS, I originally wanted to use the wonder projectors but you're limited to just a very few creatures there.
But this bone platforms dont work at all lol.
I went to verify but the skeletons I placed after finishing the expedition are still where I placed them. I did not try to move them in build mode tho...
I will go on building that museum then !!
Note I play on Steam Linux + proton no mods, main version
