Any good mods to increase draw distance?
I find it a bit jarring to see a lush planet only for the trees to have not loaded in not that far away and just see flat rock

I'll start playing again if they can fix the draw distance. I stopped playing a few years ago because i couldnt see far enough ahead while flying around a planet. It felt like Sega Saturn / Playstation 1 era.

I'd love to see a draw distance option, I feel like the PC port of this game had it's balls cut off graphically for the benefit of Consoles being the lowest common denominator.

I'm new to the game and all I hear is talk about 'Expeditions', would be nice to actually see far enough in the distance to go on one.

You can also increase LOD drammatically if you know how to manage LUA file with AMUMSS; until your PCs give out :steamhappy:

PS
It's not necessary to stop playing, there's always a mod for everything

That mod wont change much to OPs issue, and I wouldnt give them false hope

OP this game is not minecraft, its much more limited. You will have to live with its problems
Draw distance is dependent on the power of your PC.

Thankfully mods are easier to modify ourselves, once downloaded/installed.

In fact in that biomes suns and clouds mod, I was able to change parameters for storms to make them far less likely to happen.

I'm sure some experimenting with some of the parameters in that file, and perhaps asking the mod author, some different results could be made.

actually its not
I mean they have increased it lol. it's not perfect, but on the highest settings it's not that bad.

Would love to see more options to bring PCs to their knees on this engine though.

It is kinda odd, that there's no ultra+ setting, where the engine pushes your PC to the breaking point.

Would be really nice to see that lush grass all the way to the horizon, even if it does drop FPS to 1.
yea texture and object popping is a drag but short of them rebuilding the engine to have something like the UE5 nanite system, not sure it can be 'fixed'.
