Liquidators expedition
By all accounts this expedition should already be available but I cannot access it. Even starting a new game the option to start the community expedition is dimmed out.

Make sure the game is up to date check steam install. Also make sure that discovery services are active. Currently running it on the switch.

Before a new expedition is available, the game needs to download a new season data json file, which should happen when you launch the game and it connects to the game's discovery servers.

If you're not getting the option to start the expedition even from the main menu when you start a new game, then something is interfering with the game's ability to download that file.

There was another thread yesterday where another person had the same issue, and their problem was that Malwarebytes was blocking their connection to the game's servers, so if you use Malwarebytes (or any other 3rd party Firewall app), that's a good place to start with your troubleshooting.

If that's not your issue, next steps would be to verify your internet connection and Steam's connections to the internet as well, perhaps a reboot of your PC and router, etc.

Thanks for the quick responses. As I do run malwarebytes, I'll try that now.

It's possible. The person yesterday said they've been using Malwarbytes for quite a while, and it had never blocked NMS before, so it's something 'new' happening. Most likely caused by an update to Malwarbytes, given that NMS didn't get any kind of update in the last few days.

Well that's the thing, I'm have the same issue and Mbam didn't update in the past week when this started happening. It just started happening out of the blue. It seems like its because people are spoofing the IP of their port sniffing attempts to make it look like it comes from NMS's discovery servers.

I stopped using Malwarebytes when they went to a subscription model and expanded the program to cover way too much crap just like Nero went from a burning program to a suite of worthless ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Seems like programs are great to use until someones head gets a little too big and greedy and they all go to crap. Another classic example is Norton.

They've always been a subscription based service, even WWAAYY back in the early days. The core features are still free, including their more important features. The only thing you're really paying for (outside of the VPN ♥♥♥♥) is the automated portion. Even then, its still one among the extremely few services worth actually buying a yearly license for.

Its not even greed, they're the best choice for personal computer security and the ♥♥♥♥ their subscription is offering is hardly the worst of any service. I mean sure, I'm not happy with their current UI iteration, but I wouldn't stoop to comparing them to other choices like Norton or even ♥♥♥♥ like Avast or WinDef.
