Cross save

Im trying to understand this a bit more.

Let's say I play on my pc at home, and then save the game and then dowload the save to my switch. Play it while at work or whatever and once I get home upload that save I played om my switch and continue playing the same save?

That's the gist of it. It's still in Beta, so they're still ironing out some bugs. No idea when a stable version is going to be available to everyone.

You can try to get into the Beta, but don't expect things to work correctly & you could even lose a save if you're not manually backing it up.

no, no pierdes las partidas guardadas, lo que si puede ocurrir es que las versiones sean diferentes, entonces en la nintendo te da un error en la descarga, diciendote que la version de steam es mas nueva que la de nintendo.
en steam no te da ese error, siempre la puedes jugar, pero es importantísimo desactivar la opcion "jugar beta", los parches experienntales son frecuentes

en el caso de la nintendo, cuando juegas partidas sincronizadas, las guarda en la nintendo, y en tu nube, en nintendo te sale:
partida // tiempo de juego // ultimo guardado // simbolo de nube afirmativo

tu nombre de usuario de switch en steam cambiara al nombre de usuario de steam
tu partida de steam cambiara a nombre de usuario de switch

en steam no tienes que descargarla, cuando incias el juego se actualiza la nube.

en nintendo si has jugado en steam te aparecera como descargar antes de jugar

es por lo que es necesario que mantengas la version de la nintendo sobre las actualizaciones de steam.

Thanks dud yeah this helped, I was trying to find info but it all was very vague

You absolutely could lose a save. Hence it still being in Beta. It doesn't work well enough to release to the general player base yet. I haven't heard it being a widespread problem, but it's always possible. I haven't heard any major widespread problems, actually, but they're choosing to keep it in Beta for a reason. I'm just waiting until it's fully released... and even then I still will manually backup. Steam Cloud eats saves all the time.

me da que no has entendido como funciona el cross-save y porque no puedes perder ninguna partida

el cross-save lo facilita HG en mi caso 5 partidas
subi una partida de nintendo y 2 de steam
con lo que tengo un guardado de nintendo en steam, y dos guardados de steam en nintendo

una vez activada la nube, esas partidas estan en un servidor de hg
lo que juegas en steam cuando cierras el juego, sube a la nube de HG
cuando juegas en nintendo y cierras el uego sube a lla nube de HG

como funciona la nube de steam de la que tantos os quejais?

yo tena 13 partidas en steam, borre la cache, me quede con 3 guardados activos, y sigo tniendo en la nube de steam los guardados que elimine.

como se descargn los guardados de la nube de steam?

hay que descargar los dos, vienen con un nombre largo pero en esencia contiene los archivos que una vez colocados en su posicon appdata/romaing etc, vuelven a estar activos
por ejemplo quiero recuperar de la nube mi partida mf_save8.hg, tngo que descargar dos ficheros
mf_save8.hg y save8.hg, renombrarla eliminando los caracteres sobbrantes hasta que me queden esos nombres y colocaros en su sitio.

asi que veo muy dificil que puedas perder una partida, a mi no me ha ocurrido y llevo 3 meses usando el cross-save

Steam cloud sometimes losing saves has been a problem since the service first launched, back in 2008. You will see threads about it happening in the discussion boards of every single game that supports the Steam Cloud every once in a while.

"It hasn't happened to me" is a meaningless data point. That's true for every person who ever uses Steam cloud...until it actually happens to them. At which point they become one of those threads I mention in the first paragraph.

Making manual backups is just common, good sense.

yo pase antes del borrado al modo desconcectado, despues borre la cache y quedarme con 4 partidas activas, reinicie steam, sincronice con la nube, todas las partidas eliminadas en mi pc, estaban en la nube, y ahora solo se actualizan las 4 con las que decidi seguir jugando.

been trying every day to get into the beta save program so I can finally get my xbox and pc saves on steam, and always getting full message. meanwhile a bud tries once on PS5 and immediately gets in. Hopefully they open more slots up soon.

ayer estuve jugando en la nintendo, en la imagen steam me pide descargarla para jugarla, esa descarga es de la nube de hg

hoy he tenido un problema de sincronizacion, ayer estuve cruzando agujeros negros dobles, hoy retome la switch, me dio un error de sincronizacion, me pregunto que version queria que descargase, debio de haber algun corte en los servicios multijugador de hg, la diferencia era de 30 minutos, decidi conservar la copia que tenia en la nube de hg, una vez descargada, se ha vuelto a sincronizar sin problemas.
tendre que volver a recorrer los caminos.
