Sorry, I sent the wrong link earlier. It should work now.
I can move around in the Atlas interface, but not where I’m supposed to... it feels like I’m outside the map check the picture.
While in the game (not at the main menu, but actually loaded in like in the screenshot), go to the Options screen and on the right side there are two save slots. Your autosave and your restore point. Try reloading the older one.
If that doesn't work, there is a very easy way to fix this using the save editor. If that's something you're willing to try.
I've already tried that. No matter which save game I load, I always end up in the Atlas, unless I join a multiplayer lobby. Even if I'm in a multiplayer lobby and then leave to play offline alone and save, the same thing happens. Well, I think I'm stuck there, and the only option is to create a new game or play through friends lol. I will check the save editor, thank you very much!
I don't fully understand why they implemented that function specifically on the freighter base only.
My guess would be it's because the Freighters bug out, and they don't know how to fix it (Missing rooms, missing floors that cause you to fall into space/get stuck in the floor, so they added that “quick fix” to freighters.
I understand why they added it for freighters, but in the time they spent doing it they could have just made a global "unstuck" feature instead, like many, many other games have. In other words, they made a baffling choice to limit it. The time invested to do it would have been nearly the same for it to be global rather than freighter limited.
I agree with you.
I think they only “Kind of sort of 'fixed'” the Freighter problem because the bug reports far outnumbered any other problem.
But yes, there should be an “Unstick” feature, because I'm having some close calls on Planets and the foliage too.
When I first bought the game back in 2016, I ended up refunding it, because I lost a couple ships, because once I landed in the top of a tree, fell out of the ship, and couldn't reach it to get back in, and lost another getting it stuck in a cave.
