Also, with the cuboid rooms, if they're connected to your base, then they provide power to whatever is inside them.
It's seems unadvisable to run a power generator that uses a furnace to burn carbon inside an airtight room. I guess you could do it by using an air intake (provided that there's suitable air outside) and an exhaust, and both of them would have to go through the wall, ceiling or floor. It won't very practical, though. A solar panel would require a glass roof which I can't build.
I placed the tray into a corner of the room. Maybe that's too close to the wall?
I tried with a single tray and the larger one that combines 4 planting spots. I build the fungus in the planting spot of the tray, and it takes like a second before the plant shrivels up and it says I can't plant outside.
So I'm assuming that the tray needs to be inside, which it is. Still it doesn't work.
Does the tray need to be inside or does it suffice to build the plant in the tray?
Cuboid rooms? So far, I haven't seen any prefabs yet though it might be possible that I'd need to unlock them. They might be an item which I ignored because there are important items to get first.
Am I doing something wrong by building the plants in the trays? Maybe there's something else I need to do?
Nope, you need to build the trays indoors.
Just make sure you have a floor, and the tray isn't sticking into the wall.
MY cuboid room was just a suggestion, of how I do it.
You buy them from the Anomaly. They don't require any wiring. When you place them together, they combine to make larger rooms. They're pretty fun to play around with.
I tried to plant the fungus on my freighter and it didn't work, either. So I noticed that it says 'ensure toxic atmosphere'. I thought the trays or the growth chamber on the freighter would take care of that. Otherwise I could just plant the fungus on the ground.
So the error message is wrong. I need to provide a toxic atmosphere. Why would it matter if it's outside or somewhere else? I'll try a base on a toxic planet and see what happens.
How do I fill a room having the trays in it with a toxic atmosphere?
Now I'm on a toxic planet and it keeps saying "Cannot build Must attach to structure". It doesn't matter if I try it outside or inside.
What needs to be attached to a structure, what is considered 'a structure' and how do I attach what needs to be attached to it?
I'll restarting the game ...
