Each planet has unique coordinates represented by a string of 12 glyphs, those glyphs indicate it's exact location in the galaxy and that string is known as a "portal address".
One of the glyphs in the portal address is for the specific planet. So yes, each has a (slightly) different address.
The first glyph in an address represents the specific planet.
The next 3 glyphs represent the system
The last 8 glyphs represent the region
Actually two. The glyphs are base 16. 16×16 = 256. Galaxy 1 is actually galaxy 0 and Galaxy 256 is really 255.

There's one COMBINATION of Glyphs for each planet, but there's only 16 glyphs.
Are the galaxies numbered 1 - 256, or 0 - 255?
