Other than the offer expiring 12 hours ago?

I had asked the same and had been corrected about the time it was available until. It had ended as an offer about 11.5 hours ago.

There’s no point in acting surprised about it. All the planning charts and demolition orders posts and notifications have been on display at your local planning department in Alpha Centauri on Steam for 50 7 of your Earth years days, so you’ve had plenty of time to lodge any formal complaint and it’s far too late to start making a fuss about it now.

What do you mean you’ve never been to Alpha Centauri? Oh, for heaven’s sake, mankind, it’s only four light years away, you know. I’m sorry, but if you can’t be bothered to take an interest in local affairs, that’s your own lookout. Energize the demolition beams.

That's too bad, but if you read the newsletter it states:
"Today, in association with The Game Awards 2024 and to celebrate our Best Community Support nomination, we are excited to reveal the Starborn Phoenix, a limited edition golden starship."
The ship was meant as a thank you to the community for supporting the game. If you weren't paying attention, then you probably weren't part of the active support either... so it wasn't really meant for you (no offence intended)

The Starborn Phoenix is free to claim on Steam right now, until 10:00 PT / 18:00 GMT on Dec 19th - even if you don’t own No Man’s Sky. You can then redeem your ship in-game from the Quicksilver Synthesis Companion aboard the Space Anomaly.

It may not have worked consistently, but I was able to add it to my library despite not owning NMS on Steam (I own it on GOG). I remember the links not really working, though -- I had to search for it on the store and use that page. Now, what to do with it is another question...

I claimed it on my 2nd account at the begining of the week before buying a copy of the game on that account a couple of days ago. It worked as designed, I was able to claim it in game after installing the game.
Although, that 2nd account did play NMS during the play for free period during original Omega in February 2024, but I doubt that has any bearing.

It might, when you play a game during a free play period it does add it to your library and steam maintains memory of that even when the free play period is over.

I wish I'd thought of claiming it on my other Steam account.... I didn't think of doing that until about 2 hours after it was too late.

I thought I claimed it a couple days ago but didn't go in game to get it. I don't have it available from the quicksilver vendor. I have no idea if I did it right or not. When I went to get the ship, no mans sky started up and I thought I was done. I exited the game and figured it would be there next time I played. Oh well, just like the twitch items, fomo is the only bad part of this great game.

It's just bad timing.

I have a feeling that the Phoenix will come up again at some point.

Go to the store page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/3380990/Starborn_Phoenix_Ship/
If it says
Starborn Phoenix Ship is already in your Steam library
Then you did it right.
If it doesn't, you didn't.

Thanks, its not in my library apparently. I was surprised when I clicked the button on Tuesday night from the article that No man's sky launched. I avoid steam as much as possible, so I am not used to this type of stuff. I think i own a total of 5 games, and this is the only one I actually play on here. I guess I should have verified it was available in game. I have the regular version of this ship, so not a big deal. The button in the article today seems to add it to my cart but it shows an error now that its too late. It does appear that this is a test of adding future paid DLC, instead of an item of any actual value.

again... game wasn't downloaded.. Therefor, I didn't receive a newsletter notification on steam. Also I purchased the game at full price for pc AND pre-ordered in 2016 for the ps4, I'm pretty sure i gave enough support to the game to deserve a free ship lmao, no offence but you're lowkey being obtuse mate

I said "active" support.... buying the game 8 years ago doesn't count as being active...

You don't have to have the game downloaded/installed to read the newsletter... You can set your steam notifications to notify you when HG puts one out... (having it installed doesn't actually affect this at all anyway, you have to adjust the setting for yourself)

I'm sorry you missed the "limited-time offer" but that's not on me.

Edit: Has anyone checked if you can simply use a save editor to gain access to the ship like you can with expo rewards?
