Where are the comet droplets?

It's been ages since I got a mission to deliver comet droplets to a trade terminal. I've traveled everywhere to all sorts of systems and I can't find the thing. Trade posts will sell anything except comet droplets. What can I do to get rid of this quest?

You are looking for trading economy type.
If you have an Economy Scanner in your starship, set your galactic map filter to economy and warp to green colour coded systems.

Also, visit 2- or 3-star Trade economies. Poor systems may not have them in stock.

They are a trade good from "trading" economies...

You always get the goods from the envoy when you accept delivery missions... did you sell the goods by accident?

You always get the goods from the envoy when you accept delivery missions... did you sell the goods by accident?

Most of the time, we receive the goods to be transported, but this is not always the case. If I do not have the item in stock and I do not feel like looking, I do not take the mission.

"delivery" missions always give you the item...
Gather or source missions do not.

Recently I wanted to take an item delivery mission to a space station and the item was not given to me and I aborted the mission. The only explanation would be that I had this item in one of my freighter's containers that was not in the system and I did not check.

The item wont transfer into a storage container if that's what you mean... but if you have a stack in your normal freighter inventory it will add to that stack (assuming you have the matter beam equipped)

Maybe but the only thing I know for sure is that the item to be delivered was not given to me and since I abandoned the mission I can no longer do in-depth research. It is true that I did not look to see if I had this item in my freighter's inventory.

Just to be clear, you admit that you didn't actually check all your inventory, so you can't say for certain that you didn't receive the item...

Absolutely, as usual the item is provided to me, I did not check. I will do so the next time this happens to me. I had not thought about the fact that it was possible that I already had the item.

Yeah I messed up somehow. That mission has been in my log for ages, when I was kinda new to the game.

Yeah, it happens. good news is you can easily abandon the mission from in your mission log (at a cost of some rep), or just visit an "trading" economy to get a replacement for the delivery (they are the green systems when you have the economy filter on in the galaxy map). You'll want a 2-3 star system to ensure that trade terminals have them in stock
