Echo seeds - how to get?
I'm on a planet with dissonance, I scan with "F" an get locations of echos. But when I'm there I can only gather those big purple things. No echos.
What am I missing?

Use your scan thing to reveal them.

Basically, land on a dissonant planet make sure quest is active in LOG.

Hit F to bring up analysis visor. It should guide you to what looks like nothing. Hit the "C" button (the local scan button) and suddenly a structure of purple crystals with machines embedded in it (looks like a large atlantideum crystal) will appear out of thin air.

Mine this for an Echo Seed.

Hm.. thanks. Did all that but no echos. Maybe I'll have to find more of these structures
You need a special device installed on you multi-tool. You should have acquired it during the autophage quest line.:nmsatlas:

Yeah, this.

I was assuming you (meaning the OP) were following the quest steps and had actually installed it as the game is probably telling you to do now.
You have to be right up on them when you scan with the new scanner tech that you have put in your MT. You have done that, right? If you don't have the tech installed it doesn't work.

yepp. But maybe not every cluster gives echo seeds?

I was under the impression that the need for an echo seed is no longer required for They Who Have Returned & the only place it's even needed now is one of the old expos.

Edit: Oh, I forgot about the 3 needed for Stellar Multitude.

If the little icon shows up that means there is an echo there, otherwise why would the icon be there? LOL It is specific to the item hidden from view = logic. /faceplant

ah... now I found the problem:
When scanning with "F" you get to the area where the echos should be.
But you can't see them until you press "c" for a scan again.

So I tried to gather them from the purple thingies everywhere....

I thought I'd see them already when having found the area after the multitool scan. You presented the solution, I didn't understand it :)
