Its actually nice to see someone being happy here :)
i am using a Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop installed on the headset. My lowest end PC is a RTX 3070 Laptop, which will run fine if you adjust the settings properly. NMS is still not optimized very well for VR, so you need to deal with frame generation (inside the Quest 3) and other settings to make it run good. Not everyone has a RTX 4090, although the game is also CPU heavy. Even on my Ryzen 9 7950X getting stable 72fps is not easy.
If you want to check out my settings and gameplay performance test, you can watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEyqFleBKoI
This game is trully one of the greatest, the free updates makes you feel you own several games.
Guess I just can't play it until it somehow fixes itself magically, like it broke magically.
Heck, I'm almost tempted to blame USAID, they've been infiltrated into breaking everything lately! lol!
Which buttons you are trying to use ? In VR you can do everything with the VR controllers and you don't need any other input device. Keyboard, Mouse and Gamepad are not supported in NMS VR.
Even when there are minor frame drops it doesnt show in game thanks to the frame generation. Flying through the clouds into space during sunrise/sunset is so cool.
Waiting on next Expo to dive back in for a fresh experience :D
NONE of the buttons work on my VR controllers. None. I've been trying several different things. Nothing works. Ironically, when I plug in my gamepad, they work- in VR! It's impossible to use gamepads in VR.
None of this makes sense.
While the rendering of the game in VR was terrific, I too struggled with controls. Much easier for me just to stick with KBD/mouse for NMS, and keep my VR for games like IL-2.
What is the difference between Virtual Desktop and using the Steam application? I just got a Quest 3S. Do you have experience in the performance difference between the two?
