VR is AWESOME now!!!!
Well guys... I don't know what to say except that you rock! This game gets better and better, content wise as well as technically. You actually got rid of the annoying stuttering/small stops when leaving a planet, for example.
But the best thing imo is that VR now works pretty much without performance issues.

Just wanted to give a positive feedback, cause I'd imagine everybody tends to write if they want to complain :D

Yes, I've noticed it too tho I dont have a VR.
Its actually nice to see someone being happy here :)
Just out of curiosity, what headset and wand setup. I have an old WMR set but could never get into VR. Thinking about a new one but...

i am using a Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop installed on the headset. My lowest end PC is a RTX 3070 Laptop, which will run fine if you adjust the settings properly. NMS is still not optimized very well for VR, so you need to deal with frame generation (inside the Quest 3) and other settings to make it run good. Not everyone has a RTX 4090, although the game is also CPU heavy. Even on my Ryzen 9 7950X getting stable 72fps is not easy.

If you want to check out my settings and gameplay performance test, you can watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DEyqFleBKoI
Yes VR performance is miles better than it was even a year ago it's the only way I play! Even the exocraft are usable now whereas before the framerate would tank hard and make me sick immediately getting into a roamer, the VR gameplay is all super polished now.
Yes, kudos for fixing the lil bug when exiting the planet, seems like nothing and we all got used to it but is great for immersion.

This game is trully one of the greatest, the free updates makes you feel you own several games.
Well it would be if I could get the buttons to work in my game. Been trying for over a week now. I still have no idea why it won't work for me. I'm at a loss. Every other VR game I have works. It don't make sense. The only thing I have left to do is reformat my entire pc- and I'm not doing that for just NMS.

Guess I just can't play it until it somehow fixes itself magically, like it broke magically.

Heck, I'm almost tempted to blame USAID, they've been infiltrated into breaking everything lately! lol!

Which buttons you are trying to use ? In VR you can do everything with the VR controllers and you don't need any other input device. Keyboard, Mouse and Gamepad are not supported in NMS VR.
I agree, I booted this up yesterday and was able to run all Ultra/DLSS Quality settings at 90Hz(Upscale) on my Pimax Crystal Light(9800x3d, 4090).

Even when there are minor frame drops it doesnt show in game thanks to the frame generation. Flying through the clouds into space during sunrise/sunset is so cool.

Waiting on next Expo to dive back in for a fresh experience :D

NONE of the buttons work on my VR controllers. None. I've been trying several different things. Nothing works. Ironically, when I plug in my gamepad, they work- in VR! It's impossible to use gamepads in VR.

None of this makes sense.

While the rendering of the game in VR was terrific, I too struggled with controls. Much easier for me just to stick with KBD/mouse for NMS, and keep my VR for games like IL-2.
awesome! I plan on playing in VR for the upcoming expedition! cant wait!
I have to agree, these last few updates have made VR better than ever. The transition from atmosphere to space is so smooth and the graphical updates have made everything in the game look better. On top of looking better, it performs better!

What is the difference between Virtual Desktop and using the Steam application? I just got a Quest 3S. Do you have experience in the performance difference between the two?
May run better but they still haven't fixed it so I can play only with xbox controller like it worked years ago in VR. Using the wands is fine except for piloting a ship which sucks with them and you do a lot. At least I can still use the controller for piloting the ship, but can't for navigating menus.
