Storms on Gas Giants?
Is it just me, or is there never any stormy weather on Gas Giants? I have discovered many, and not a single one has had anything other than Extreme weather and the little loacalized tornadoes.

How are we supposed to catch the storm fish if it never storms?

If you have found a Gas Giant that has stormy weather that happens AND it has water, please post coordinates!

Edit: Since none of you seem to know what the ♥♥♥♥ Stormy WEATHER means:

I'm talking about when the weather changes and the Hazard Protection triggers and it says "STORM" or "EXTREME STORM" above the Hazard Protection gauge in the HUD. I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TORNADOES THAT ARE THERE CONSTANTLY.

Check your difficulty settings. Must be something there doing it, coz gas planets are stormy as hell by default.

for water, its often better to find a cave and start digging. more specifically, check you scanner for clams or sulfide, and go that way.

as for storms, the wind will literally pick you up and toss you around in the air. not all storms are the same after all.

There is a difference between "Extreme" and "Extreme Storm". If the HUD does not have the word "Storm" showing, you xannot catch Storm specific fish.

You haven't played since the most recent update. There is water on Gas Giants now, I've just NEVER encountered one that had actual Storm weather occur, water or not.

Storms are the big feature of Gas Giants. You must have something wrong if that is not happening for you. It would actually be nice if occasionally they were not stormy. Makes me feel disoriented quite often because it is difficult to just get around or stay on track with the direction I planned to head.

None of you seem to understand what Stormy WEATHER means. Like when you're on a Paradise planet and it starts to rain and the wind blows and it gets real hot and your Hazard Protection triggers and it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ says "STORM" or "EXTREME STORM" above the hazard protection gauge part of the HUD.

I think the case for NMS gas planets may be that, no mater the time, storm = true, always.

Edit: but by the lack of other elements acknowledging 'storm', I'd say having 'storm' glued to 'true' may not be working too well with other aspects of the storm feature...

I've been using Magpulse Lures for hours. No luck. Even tried different Gas Giants, including different Galaxies. Also, it would say "STORM in the HUD.

I'm inclined to say that another bug in NMS has been spotted. Unfortunately, it has a plethora of brethren.
storms was one of the three configuration options when we manifest the new system?

This is exactly why I'm asking in here. I'm pretty sure it's a bug, but I need to know if anyone else has noticed this or if it's just bad luck with RNG. Just like how the Gas Giants didn’t have water to fish in before this latest update. (You still have to dig a bit to get it RRALLY deep but I just headcannon that as a property of it being a Gas Giant. Melt the ice into water sort of thing.)

I'm currently having the same issue. I've tried fishing both inside and outside, no luck on the three storm fish specimen. I even have all the legendary fish, but not even the common storm type.

Gas Giants have permanent storms to my experience. So, an extra mention of "storm" isn't nesscary.
At least, storm-crystals are always active there.

I didn't know, that this planet can have water. though. And maybe, the according fish needs to be fished on normal extreme planets. Ocean-planets can also have storms, btw, ansd they're not that rare to my experience.

Or is this fish only catchable at gas giants? (I never bothered with fishing much. I find this boring...)

Gas Giants are actually different I found out. I did find one that instead of "Extreme" is actually says "Gas Storms" in red in the HUD. Although it still took almost an hour for an actual storm to occur, rather than just the "Extreme Temperature..." announcement. Of course I ran out of Magpulse lures by that time and was just goofing around thinking it would never happen. So... going to try again tonight.

I'm going to need you to give us the coordinates for that system.
