Unable to change color of ship in Fabricator

I can't seem to change the color of my solar ship i am trying to build in the ship fabricator, do i need to do something to unlock color customization ?

You unlock color selection once the ship is all put together, just don't confirm all selections, it asks you for A Final confirm, but always remember to create A Restore point before you do anything.

Also some things can't be altered, the Big Blue Solar looking wing panels you see are always blue, so your part may do the same, I wouldn't know about Solar though, not my cup of tea.

I tried that, added all ship parts and can change paint style but the color palette that should be underneath does not appear

I have the same issue in experimental version. In another save file (main version of the game) everything is fine. I reinstalled the game, it didn't help. Gotta report and hope for a fix or whatever.

Yup, same issue. Tried making a new solar ship and the colours are not showing at all. I can only choose between matte-metallic-stealth-ironclad.

Don't you have to click Assemble before it lets you choose a color? That's how it worked for my two ships.

ok lots of misinformation in this thread.

it's a bug. plain and simple. report it via zendesk.

on all other ship hulls you can change the colour, and before Worlds 2 you could on solar too.

if you are reading this, don't click assemble. write down the name of the station, build a base computer so you don't lose it and save the parts you were going to use. report the bug, it will get fixed fast if a few people report it.

wait what does the station have to do with it? does the station you assemble the ship in affect the stats?
