Update crashes to desktop in VR
When I try to launch into VR with Quest 3, it instantly crashes with this error.

Was working fine yesterday.

Flat version works fine.

I am having the same issue. We had a couple of updates close together. I had the same crashing issue last week. Then we had an update and worked fine—in fact, it was the best I had experienced in VR after 845 hours of play over the last several years. It went back to crashing in VR with the current version. I also observed that it works fine in the flat version.

Same here, works in flat but not in VR. What is weird is I had the issue one day, next day after a small update NMS was working in VR again. And then today got the crash again in VR.
ive had this crap since the first worlds update, bricked VR for me completely.
hasnt worked since no matter what i try, other VR games work flawlessly.

They changed the game A LOT for console compatibility for PSVR,
In turn they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the PCVR community sideways.
I can only play VR wired, which i prefer but NMS VR is not possible wired anymore due to the changes. Perhaps over VD but not with Oculus>Steam VR in the intended way.

Such a let down.
I use Pico 4 via Virtual Desktop and it still works the same as before Worlds 2 and the updates since. No issues, still running same settings. Considering Quest is primarily a standalone headset like the Pico, having it wired to the PC is not generally the intended way, wireless is. Itended to be wired would use Display port and not the less performing USB.

Not having that problem here, still runs really well using: Quest3, AirLink, Win11, Core 9 285K, 4090, 64GB, M.2. I found that I have to launch SteamVR through the AirLink interface and then launch NMS from the SteamVR interface.
He is using wired though, I highly doubt it is the game update that has given him this problem as it works wireless just fine. Maybe he has updated something else.

I have the same issue, I am using Quest 3, and no matter launching the game from steam VR through virtual desktop or Air Link, both crashes with this token:

@Taz D Evil and @hychan

Do you guys have any mods installed?
If so, disable mods and try again

It was happening to me, I was able to fix it with a suggestion from other user in this forum, then happened again and did the fix.

The fix:
Delete contents from the following folder and the launch the game
C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA\NGX\models

Note:
ProgramData is a hidden folder, so just copy and paste the path in windows file explorer

Thanks mataro, it worked for me.
Thanks Mataro. Worked for me. No idea why that broke it, but it did.
Mataro,s suggestion got me loaded in, but it is running at around 5fps and unplayable,
im using 3070ti, ryzen 7 and 32gb DDR4.

But this games runs like its being run on a friggin laptop or something.
Then crashes after being loaded in for 2-3 minutes.

Games hopeless,.
