Hello Everyone,

First of all, thanks so much to everyone who has already spent time playing No Man's Sky and letting us know about any issues you've experienced.

To play in Experimental, right-click on No Man's Sky from the Steam library page and select "Properties". Among the available tabs will be the "BETAS" tab. Enter "3xperimental" in the textbox and press "CHECK CODE", then select it from the dropdown menu.

The patch notes are as follows:

Experimental Branch 07/02
  • Fixed a number of collision issues with Exocraft and lasers.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the Nautilon platform to become unstable in the water.
  • Fixed an issue that caused water to appear too dark when viewed from space.
  • Improved the visibility of underwater jetpack effects.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Favourited teleport destinations to be unfavourited after warping to them.
  • Fixed an issue that caused two identical options to appear during a dialogue tree in They Who Returned.
  • Fixed an issue that caused trader starships to plummet to the ground immediately after takeoff when leaving an outpost on the moon of a gas giant.
  • Fixed a text issue with some monolith interactions.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the UI to be unclear about if abandoned mode was enabled or not.
  • Fixed a number of water rendering issues.
  • Fixed a collision issue affecting biodomes.
  • Fixed an issue that caused the starship to sound like it was landing on water when it was not.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause some starships to snag on the entrance to the freighter hangar.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some discovery screen text to flicker while playing in multiplayer.
  • Fixed a crash related to memory management.
  • Fixed an issue that made abandoned and pirate space stations too bright.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the player to move erratically in some environments, such as the Space Anomaly or in bases.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the galaxy map to select a route that went through invisible systems.
  • Fixed an issue that caused holograms to be invisible when viewed against the sky.
  • Fixed a number of rare issues with saving settlements.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some underwater bases to appear invisible on PS5.
  • The teleporter page will now show the closest destination to your selected mission as the first entry in the list.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some sea creatures to show as extinct in the discovery page.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some sea creature to use the wrong death effects.
  • Fixed an issue that caused broken slots to be "sorted" by the inventory sort options.

As always, thank you to all players who use Experimental and take the time to report any issues you encounter.

Please note there is the possibility that experimental builds may introduce new issues that haven't been caught in test. We'd like to recommend that all players back up their save files, by making a local copy of the st_[userid] folder found here on PC: %appdata%\HelloGames\NMS\ and here on mac: ~/Library/Application Support/HelloGames/NMS/

Note that we don't anticipate any issues here. However, performing your own backups could mean the difference between resuming play immediately, or waiting for the next patch.

If you decide to opt out of experimental and return to the main branch, we strongly recommend resuming from a backed-up save from the main branch, rather than taking an experimental branch save back to main, which may cause unexpected behaviour.

Feedback and reports of new bugs/issues being found on Experimental are welcome, so please reply to this thread or submit a ticket to https://hellogames.zendesk.com/ with the phrase "Steam Experimental" in the ticket title. If you are running any mods for the game, please list them along with your bug report.

The permanent "storms" on gas giants still don't seem to count as an actual storm when it comes to catching storm fish though... :KSad:

hello...Nautilon lights could be more wider like some %...
Dont suppose we can climb ladders in our bases without ending up outside the layer we were climbing to instead of in it? Makes having enviro domes upstairs a bit awkward to get into as is.

Very good. This will perhaps make it possible to continue my last safe and finding my created purple system eventually... Although I'm nearly through the main story again in my new play. But I will try it.
Crashes on load save file or starting a new game. Reinstalled cleared cache, etc. no dice.
I'm no longer seeing flickering ground textures when flying low over planets thank you! But I am now seeing a bug where the ground doesn't render in the near textures properly and doesn't let me land even after waiting 20 seconds it just stays like this. The ground also seems to be not solid and my ship can pass through it and hit the actual solid ground underneath it. My guess is that it's not swapping from the far LOD models to the near LOD models properly.

nice, I reported on the dark water from space. some of the planets I've run into have either dark or inky black seas. was a little bit of a bummer because I love the wild colors you can come across. (though yellow and orange are fairly frequent)

Found an issue where I tried to build a base computer on a planet I wanted to save but it wouldn't allow me to. In fact, I wasn't able to build any technology, such as the refiner or save point. Random crashing issue seemed to be improved, as I was able to wander the same planet for over an hour, but after returning to my freighter and then attempting to teleport to a base, it froze. After reloading the game and playing for another 15 minutes or so, it froze my computer entirely and I had to reboot. The little glitches are tolerable, but ever since the Worlds 2 update, I can't complete a session without a crash.
Yeah this version is basically unplayable. I did manage to land on one planet and for some reason my life support was going from 100% to 0 in one second and it wasn't showing me the planet info when I get out my ship.

Still no way to warp to 'restored' system, and/or no way to restart quest per location, .... how soon on that?

I´ve build a base on a gas giant, but unfortunally its now complete underground off the planet , any chance this is getting back on top of the planet ?! or do i have to delete the whole base?
