What qualifies as an exotic world?
I'm trying to find the second 'exotic' life form but having no luck. What is an 'exotic' planet? Supposedly the c scanner is supposed to tell you, but it's not giving me any obvious information.

exotic worlds are the ones with like one animal type only. strange geometries and terrain.

beams, bone spire, bubble, contour, fract cube, hexagon, hydro garden, irridescent shells, m-structure, shards, wire cells, and glitch worlds.

theres wiki pages on this stuff, if you just google it.
Best bet is to just go to the station and scan the other player bases for "Exotic Critters". I am guessing you are doing the Expedition. That is how I got them all. You could spend hours searching on your own.

Hello Maljen.
Usually, it's a world with only one animal or so if we talk about missions.
To find it faster, try to see the name of the community bases in Teleporter and warp there if it's available.

But in general, if I understand correctly it's anything that is not usual.

Here is a good wiki about it:

Thanks! I am going to give that a try!

And or course, there is only one base up talking about critters and I can't download the data for that. Wheeeeeee! This expedition really is CURSED! lolol
The wiki gives you a list of potential names for them. They are what I call glitch planets. Bubbling is one with - bubbles. This expedition has 3 iirc. Two are on grumpy sentinel planets so go to SS and look for aggressive sentinel planets to find them and port yourself to a player base on that planet and hope it's not some joker trying to kill you.
As an experience during normal "just exploring around", I've found 3 exotic places (2 planets, 1 moon) in few weeks (and 64 systems).. and most of that time I haven't been exploring. All the 3 of them had something out of ordinary already in the scan from space.
Assuming similar statistics elsewhere, I'd say, it would take less than one evening to find another 3, if looking only for them. Two evenings if one is like a cat with ball of string tossed by the nose (or an empty box) when noticing "paradise"...
(And that by a noob on the starting galaxy.)

If OP is doing cursed expedition redux, the step for scanning 2 exotic life can be done in systems 3 and 4.

In 3rd system you portal to, there's a world labeled as 'cabled' - it has only 1 fauna and it counts as cabled worlds = exotic.

Little bit less sure because of fuzzy memory, but as I recall, in 4th system there is world labeled as 'forsaken' and the fauna on their counts as exotic.

One of the systems in the cursed expedition also has planet listed as Foaming which also classifies as Exotic
