No water planet
i just can't seem to find any gas giant system with a water planet in them. I've searched for about two days now, i repeatedly find the underwhelming five moons yet none have water deep enough to be considered a water planet. Also, i am really dissapointed in the luck of creativity in these new systems. They all have a gas giant and five planets. i thought the procedural generation tech was gonna mix things up a little, you know, ten moons, three moons and whatnot but NO. It is always five. It is obvious that the devs rushed this update, i just don't know why. Oh and the gas giants are not exactly gas giants- just big planets with storms. its either Mr. Shawn has no idea what a gas giant entails or, like i said earlier, they rushed this update.
Anyway, if anyone has found these extremely deep water planets, please let me know. i don't want to waste my time on a wild goose chase.

Gas giants and deep oceans are mutually exclusive. If you stop looking for "Gas" in the galaxy map you'll find your Kevin Costner sooner rather than later. :cozycrashfish:
Deep water worlds can not be moons, gas giants only have moons orbiting them, so start looking in systems that don't have gas giants. The terrain on moons is too small to generate deep oceans.

Also, gas giants can have less than 5 moons, I've seen it multiple times. But always at least 1.

One tip I would give to cut down on searching for water planets is to use your freighter to warp around and then use the planetary scanner to aoe scan every planet in the system. Really cuts down on the fluff.
you want ones that start with Y or X that don't say "gas giant" , I'm not sure if the number makes a difference, but i'm assuming blindly here that you'd get more fire or ice planets with higher/lower number and might be better off shooting towards the 3-7 range (again, there is a chance this could make zero difference)

If you want a planet that has water, avoid gas giants. Moons can't have water. There are only five moons because each system can have only 6 planets and moons. To look for water planets, try clicking systems in the galaxy map to check planet numbers. More planets are more chances. If you see a huge one outside of a gas system, then it is a solid titan. What you got right is it must be a purple system. Freighter scan rooms help too. If you look at the pause menu system map, then you can see planets. Ones that are all shiny are likely either water planets or just very very wet.

It's that way with every update. Think about it. Players asked for cities.... Settlements was their answer. Players asked for gas giants.... We got a planet with clouds. I'm not surprised.

Moons CAN have water now in purple systems, but the deep ocean biome specifically doesn't generate on them. Too small.

pin lithium in your catalogue... it should lead you to a nearby system with an ocean world...
You are welcome to come here, but it is in Eissentam galaxy.

Hello friend. I also faced quite a quest while finding deep ocean worlds. In my Russian version of game they are called Flooded planets, i make direct translation. I wonder why devs don't use more scientific words, e.g. Pantalassian planet would sound epic and nice. And easiest way to find deep oceans - in your database find Lithium and point it to search - you can find it exclusively on deep ocean worlds. And of course they are only in purp star systems.

omg the waterworld reference, I'm betting you need an old person nap as badly as I do. :mhwgood:

1. Systems can have less than 6 planets/moons.
2. The update could have changed that, if not in general, at least for Purple Star Systems, but they didn't. Why?
I was waiting for the 'those aren't gas giants' guy and I was not disappointed. People wanted gas giants that you could land on so that's what they got. What the core of a gas giant consists of has still not been resolved. Hello Games tend to respond to players if they make enough noise. That's why we have multiplayer, base building, and space battles. Now we have ersatz gas giants. Anyone else have any requests?

Everyone, please shout about having no systems with 7 or more objects at once. We need more objects per system!!!

And if people don't like that idea, they can support my other idea.

Everyone else, please shout about having no automation beyond simple mining/extraction and power generation. We need automation!!!
