Deep oceans...

So, I dusted off the game (haven't played in months) to try the new update.
I always felt disappointed because the shallow waters and the bright lights everywhere. Now I have to say...

I can't... I landed in one of the new ocean planets, looking for lithium, and the deposit was 640u UNDER the waterline!!
I tried to be brave and jumped down, cloudy waters, darkness, strange shadows around... no, god no, I can't do this...!

Turned around and blasted off the water at full speed, that was insane (I do have thalassophobia).

I've seen water worlds going down to around 1500u max, yet to see deeper.

I also have thalassophobia.

I found a water world with 1500u deep and the minute it started getting dark I had a borderline panic attack.

Then I saw a giant squid and noped out hard.

Can't wait to terrify myself trying to build a base on one of these worlds.

Nautilon might help with that. It can now be fitted with it's own version of the Terrain Manipulator to use on those deposits.

That's why even though I considered Ocean worlds to be fun to explore more than the Gas giants, I still chose Gas Giant as my first purple system.

Nevertheless, I also... was uncomfortable going so deep.

Of course you can put this irrational fear aside if you focus... Also helps to remind yourself it's a game.

Of course you can put this irrational fear aside if you focus... Also helps to remind yourself it's a game.

That's not a made up phobia. It's pretty much the fear of the idea of looking down into a dark abyss, not knowing what might lurk down there.

And you can't control it, that's why it's a phobia.

I legit get panic attacks if I'm on an IRL body of water to the point where I will not go on water. I ain't a fish.

I can get freaked out just looking at a photo of the deep ocean. Videos of the ocean are even worse. The second you dip below the water line and you just see the light fade to black. Nope. Nope. Nope. No. Nah. No way. Absolutely not. No ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way.

Videogames are weird in between where it's not real but I'm in control of what's going on, so it's almost as bad as IRL.

I was excited for the deep water worlds. Then I got so spooked I shut the game down, haha.

I'm still looking for a water world that's also a giant. People claim they exist but I haven't seen one in person yet.
