I'm not sure, if that is possible if you didn't start a custom game. But you should be able to set differend options. Including free creating and free buying. You can also set the setting to "locked", however. This will permanently lock them, then. (I didn't ry that, yet.) Maybe the non-custom-modes have this enabled by default. I don't know...)
If you have set buying to free, all things, that are buyable are free. Excluding Quicksilver-items. But here it isn't called "buying", but "creating". I believe, though, that the "free creations" doesn't include quicksilver-items... This setting allows you, to install and make all things free of cost. So, you can install tech, for example, that needs resources, only available in purple systems, like the exocraft-caller of the exosuit or the terrain-manipulator of the nautiolon. Or you can repair your sentinel-ship after switching galaxies with it... (you need the purged harmonic brain for that. And that's only possible to purge, if you found a sentinel ship. AND you can only purge ONE brain, then, regardless how much corrupted you have in your inventory. I didn't find a way to purge the ones, you can get now and then, for fightng space-sentinels. I learned that the hard way...)
With free buy, you can even buy slots and upgrades for ships and multitools. (not for your exosuit, though, This option is only avaiable, if you have one of the slot-items in your inventory. IF that is, so, it may be however, that you can use it infinitely, because you won't waste it. I didn't have the opportunit to test that, yet...)
This setting will also spare safe-scumming. Especially to get found S-class-ships. Because you can just upgrade them instead.
(the only exceptions are freighters. There is no way to upgrade them directly...)
You know, deep down there's not much to do in no man's sky... well, there's a lot of things to do but not meaningful things. Goals.
Once you start making shortcuts, the game sees its value reduced. That's just my opinion. I am totally ok with removing some grind but... what's in No man's sky other than the grind? You grind to make bases, create upgrades, buy ships... it's all about the grind.
I am trying many of the advices people gave me in this threat. The oen that is helping me the most is the one about the nautilus using the sonar to locate other freighters. It's slow but I can get 5 in one hour or something, and it's not so boring as it sounds, time goes fast. I get a lot of other stuff too. It's not so bad.
Piracy seems the best way to go but I am not going that route.
