[SOLVED] How to reach Purple Systems?
Hi! I saw on the wiki that the new Gas Giants are only in purple systems and the wiki also says that to get to purple systems you need an atlantid drive. I read elsewhere that to get that, you need to go through the "In Stellar Multitudes" quest. This leads into the actual question: How do I unlock the "In Stellar Multitudes" quest? The wiki doesn't have a page for it or the Atlantid Drive.

Note: I had to painstakingly complete the Artemis questline, (completing The Purge) finish the Atlas Path and end the Autopage questline (completing They Who Returned) in order to start In Stellar Multitudes. By. Myself.
I also created the entirety of the wiki pages on In Stellar Multitudes, the Atlantid Drive, Quartzite and Activated Quartzite.

- Artemis quest line must be finished. That's the main storyline.

- The "they who returned" questline must be completed. It is available after you complete the main storyline, grab an echo locator from a dissonant world to get started.

-[?] You may need the Star Seed installed into your exo suit, the blueprint of which comes from finishing the Atlas Path. It's likely required for Stellar Multitudes since the quest mentions the player having it.

After all of that is completed you should have Stellar Multitudes begin randomly while you pulse drive in space. Completing that questline reveals the purple systems as well as unlocks the drive you need.

Thank you! You should also contribute to the wiki pages on purple system-related content, such as the Atlantid Drive and the "In Stellar Multitudes" quest, as they currently don't exist. (at least, they didn't last time I checked)
A much quicker way is to complete the Titan expedition to gain access to Purple systems (once your save goes back to Normal)

Yes .. at least you have it for that save.. and it may be a bug...because HG forgot to set "showpurplesystems" flag to off ?
.. hope thats not the case and just a surprise reward :)

Sorry, but I had already gained access to those systems before you posted this. That's before the expedition as well. I didn't know that the expedition did that though. : )

It still involves starting over from the main menu though. Preexisting saves don't benefit.

Begin the Titan expedition from the Expedition Terminus aboard the Space Anomaly, or from a fresh new save, which you can later choose to convert a Normal Mode save.

Note that new saves converted to Normal Mode in this way will continue to have access to the new purple star systems, and the story mission In Stellar Multitudes will not be available.

Sorry to liven this up again but, I completed said titan awhile ago and have the drive but still can't get to the purple sects. Been trying for weeks. Is it possible you need the exo suit add on as well? I don't remember getting that nor do I have that now. I even tried saving some quartz and helium but it didn't carry over for me. Why? Maybe a bug? Idk. Anyone else have this issue?

You need to complete In Stellar Multitudes.
The only saves that get Purple access via the Titan Expedition are NEW saves created from the main game menu to start the expedition that are converted to new normal saves at the conclusion.
Every existing save that starts the Expedition from the Expedition Terminus in the Anomaly, has to complete the story mission to unlock the new star systems.

Why the hell did they make you be forced to go through the entire storyline and then some just to get this ability to see Gas Giants?!?!
WHat were they thinking?!

Do they not know how much time that would take?
IT should 100% be something that does not need 12 hours of work to do on any save!
Ugh.

What was the entire point of adding these things to the game when you literally can't even see them!?

SEriously, why block off access to the brand new cool things?!

I play this game to explore and have fun! THis is the complete opposite of what this game was about!
IT makes no sense!

I've done the Artemis storyline on one of my saves, not my current save. All the way through.

If anything, it should be able to count other save data!

The same reason they locked the Autophage Race/Staff Building/Atlantid Multitools behind completing the story.
And that's all still locked behind completing the story.

I don't know what that means at all.
Sorry.

I just don't get why advertise this new feature and then make it nearly impossible for people to get to it.
Makes no sense and goes completely against how this company used to do stuff in this game!

Adding some depth and encouraging people to move into the end game doesn't hurt. Also, for nearly a decade they have been adding features that require prerequisites before they can be used - none of this is new.

I've been playing this game that long and I do not recall this level of nonsense before.
OOF. No previous features added made you have to burn through two entire quest lines.

Look, I'll go do the quest lines again sometime, sure, but forcing people to do something ad infinitium is a bad take all around.

So much work to go through the quest lines to get to that point, you know.

Okay, Look, I'm sorry for being grumpy earlier.
I was hungry.

They gave a way to bypass doing the missions if you really want access to purple systems without earning it... just start the Titan expo as a new save (which you will always be able to do offline with a simple file edit).
If you have old saves and still haven't bothered to finish the missions, then stop complaining and just do them. They really don't take all that long... Artemis Path can drag a bit if you've done it before (or even the first time) but it's not like it's actually a challenge that only some have the skill to complete, you just have to get through it. The rest you'll have done in a single session...

I am not abandoning my save just to start a new save, just to play in an expedition. THe only one I played that much was the one that gave you that really nice ship. With a huge Hyperdrive radius. Expedition 3. I think.

That's my main save right now.

And I have done the Artemis quest line.
IT does take many hours to complete.

IT's not fast.

So, please don't treat me like I've never played this game before when I've literally been playing this game since Day 1! Or like Day 4 maybe. I'm not sure when I played it the first time.

Seriously, I've never heard of them adding this kind of wall to the additions they added to the game before.

Yes, I know I haven't played in a decent time until just now.
But real life has been kicking me in the pants. So, I've been very busy.

All in all, I'm progressing slowly through the Artemis quest again, on this new save.
Once you do the main storyline, on any save, you really should never be forced to do it again.
Let alone ALWAYS if you ever want multiple save slots.

I've just never seen them doing this stuff before. Ever.
IT's just not how a game based on exploration should work. Things in this game should remain optional. Not mandatory. Full stop.

Maybe I'll play more later, but it's still going to be a while before I get there.
