What the heck!? Activated quartzite costs EXACTLY the same as activated Indium!

It also refines in 1 to 4 to chromatic metal, just like activated Indium.
Looks like they basically copypasted activated indium stats, called it differently, change the color and called it a day. In my opinion, considering how much harder it is to reach purple stars it should cost AT LEAST 20% more or more than that. I mean it's literally endgame stuff and it costs the same as the metal that is available so, so much earlier.

Conclusion - don't change your activated indium farms to activated Quarzite, there is no reason to. At least not yet. Hopefully they'll increase its the price later.

Price of gold as a comparison. I guess when they were nerfing activated indium they forgot to nerf gold

Prices vary throughout the galaxy for materials based upon the setup supply and demand structure so do some price comparisons in different systems.

Beyond that different materials have different properties and uses that dictate their value, quartz is a very versatile element that is used in far more areas than indium which has a smaller more niche use so their values are also based on that aspect.

It shows base price here, without price drops or spikes. It's the same for both chromatic metals. Quartzite should cost way more considering far harder availability compared to indium.
Instead, gold costs more than twice than it while being available in early game.
Money has no value in this game after about 500k or one dissonant planet. Just valueless.
Lol activated minerals is out long time ago. Gold is the trend.

yeah but you'd think one of the hardest to get minerals in the game would cost more than activated indium at least(I know it was nerved in 4.0 version), but it doesn't. It's literally re-drawn and renamed activated indium. Even refines to the same amount of chromatic metal.
Think we all know mineral mining is pointless for money outside say a Stasis Devices farm right? Maybe they will add more uses for the new mineral/resources then at that point I'll prob build a farm for it personally. Would have been nice if it had a more lasting appeal and use in the game I agree on that. I only kept one AI Farm out of sentimental reasons but I haven't collected from it in years sadly. I find Stasis Devices are best for slot to sending over for expedition but then it trivializes the whole experience money wise.

I've just got 160 million in one go by selling all of my activated indium from all depots. It's definitely not useless, just very much nerfed. Statis devices and Fusion ignotors are way more bothersome to make. I tried doing it before, way too many steps. Selling activated indium takes me like 3 minutes.
