Frame gen isn't quite there yet. As it hasn't been ray tracing for nearly a decade as well.

For me it helped when i changed the dlss files in nms. I take the new dlss files from Cyberpunk. Since then it runs very smooth.

Why do you need frame gen in a game like no mans sky with your 4080?

Because NMS is a unoptimised stutterery low framerate mess no matter the hardware

Ok?

I "only" have a 4070ti and play on 1440 and max everything with dlss on quality and usually have 80-100 fps everywhere.

Its also not or very rarely stuttering. (except after a driver update or big game update of course, then it stutters for the first like 10 minutes)

Try turning off overlays on such as nvidia's overlay, also using the sharpen + filter turned off can poss stop the crashing when using frame gen.
In a nutshell there is an issue with nvidia filters running with frame gen in the background that causes CTD

Like i said, I have a 4070ti and it runs pretty much perfect for me.

There seems to be something wrong with your hardware or maybe windows.

4k ultra settings at 144hz with dlss on quality... ok, i'm on a 4090, but still..

I'm not complaining about performance, I just like to use Frame Gen for 240fps guaranteed :)
