Deep Sea Worlds End game?
Is there no other way to get to a deep sea planet other than getting to end game? For a game built around free-roaming an entire universe, and seeing the same types of planets over and over again, locking new planet types behind the rest of the game was a horrible way to introduce some variety in planets.

Wife and I were starting a whole new save for this, just for us to have to wait until we beat the game (again) to build a base in a new environment for once. Oof.

Am I missing something? I don't want to rush through the main quest-line just to see the new planets.

I think the only other option would have been wiping the current seed of the universe, which I think would of been a worse choice.

You can add to a seed by extending it, but modifying what's already there is probably a technical nightmare on the actual game engineering side of things.

That's my guess.

To be honest though, I haven't seen anything confirming that the new stuff would only be in the purple systems, but logically that seems to be how it'd go.

Agreed. I am not liking the choice to lock new content behind story completion. For those of us that like to free-roam, it really sucks.
Just curious, but why would you start a new save? Assuming you completed everything thing on your old ones that is.

And even if you don't get into the new purple systems you will see the effects on newly discovered worlds in the other systems, just not, at least in my experience so far, to great extremes.

The thing is, many pre existing worlds got rerolled with that update. Not sure what HG is doing at this point

You will most liekly see changes on already discovered worlds. HG ruined half my bases again (first time was worlds part 1).

I mean I can understand that I suppose, I don't exactly know how seeds work with their engine, seems like in the past they've added plenty of things that would change the seed without locking it behind end game.

Because I've beaten the main story before. I usually wait for quite a few significant updates so that I get a somewhat new-ish experience. Jumping into an old save is pointless to me because most of everything is already done. I also tend to make the difficulty harder based on what I think was too easy from my last save.

Yes you did miss something. You missed the fact you made a choice to start all over again. Just keep on your current save or whichever one you want to play but don't make a choice that has you restart the whole thing and then come in here and complain about it... I mean, really? You have failed, or maybe that's won... the Digital Darwin Award. Congratulations.

Because major updates can break a save, cause glitches, change the gameplay etc.

Could you start a creative save and get access?
You can sprain your ankle getting out of bed too. Still, a choice to start over. And then complain bitterly.
I usually start over with major updates or long breaks as well.
I thought you HAD to start over to do new expeditions? Was that way when I played
Nope. Go to the anomaly and behind it is a desk to set it all up. Your chosen toon just gets stripped to the basics but you can even load some stuff there at the desk to pick up once you have the anomaly opened up. There are some limits but also a dozen vids out there if you want more info.

Did I complain though? I just gave my opinion on the matter. Seems you're not emotionally mature enough to notice the difference.

And I DEFINITELY didn't complain bitterly, or even at all. At least you have freedom of speech on here, i'm sure it makes you all warm and fuzzy to know that no matter how silly your thoughts are, you at least get to express them! High five buddy!
