How do I get mordite? The butterflies are invincible.

Trying to get mordite but these butterflies are invincible, i've spent tons of ammo on a single one and they just wont die.

Hop to a different planet. If you're in Miurai XI, I believe the ice moon was the easiest of the 3 to get some quick mordite. Faecium also refines to it, but at a really bad ratio.

Kill any animal walking around on planets, some plants in caves also give mordite. (Though I haven't done this in years, so it might not still do that)

Yeah these butterflies are a massive pain to farm, like all the animals ive found in that system.

I found a player base in the first system, called something like "all plants farm expedition help". Got my stack of mordite there.

I went North, and planet skimmed to get to the flatter area with water. Tons of fish in there, and kill them and get mordite.

Why would you kill butterflies for mordite?
Yes, some flying critters are extremely beefy. So find something else to kill.

You can also kill fish and other underwater critters. The bigger the more!!

I found the butterflies took more damage from the mining laser than they did guns.

most animals in the starter system are flying crap.
