When the game get interesting?
Hey guys, when does the game actually get interesting?
I've tried starting the game a few times, but each time I got bored because of the dull open world, ugly planets and monsters, and the bugs.
How long do I need to play before the game becomes fun and beautiful, like in the screenshots Steam shows me?
Everyone saying the game has changed a lot over the years, and it has high ratings now, but I don't see any changes. The only changes I notice are in the prerendered screenshots.
I also get the feeling that some of the positive reviews for the game are written by bots, since they have just a few hours in the game, very few games on their account, and only 1 review, specifically for NMS.

Also, my eyes are bleeding from the draw distance in the game. I think I set the settings to maximum, but it was still very low, and I could see plants and monsters loading in just 50 meters away from me, and behind them, empty fields.
I'm playing on an SSD with a 1660 Super with FSR

I'm at 4000+ hours and I still love the game. Maybe it's not your cup of tea.

Many things have changed. Honestly, some for the worst, or maybe that's harsh, but things that we needed to work for have been made much easier to do. It's en exploration game. To find the worlds I consider beautiful have taken many hours to find. Some found by dumb luck while doing some mission or quest. This game consumes hours doing simple things, many with little or no purpose, other than satisfying one's curiosity.

My perfect planet requires no less than 6 specific characteristics. Finding one that has those, using procedural generation that selects from thousands of characteristics, is like finding a needle in a hay stack. But I'm very happy visiting many system looking for one.

This probably isn't the game for you.

If your visuals doesn't match the screenshots, that's due to your graphics settings.

As for gameplay, it never changes. If you don't like it, play something else.

I have over 8,500 hours of playtime on NMS and I still enjoy it. I can't tell you anything more.

Are you here to ask a real question or just complain and make false accusations?

When you start a new game, you'll always begin on a "ugly" planet because you have to learn the basics, aka survive in a dangerous world, so it'll be always planets with very high or very low temperatures, toxicity or radiations.
Now if you want to discover beautiful planets and stuff, I suggest you to learn the game enough to leave your planet or even your solar system, beautiful planets are not that far if you stop complaining and make everything you can to discover one.

If you get bored after multiple attempts in your total playtime of 21 minutes, there isn't really anything anyone could tell you to keep playing.

It's hard to see any differences, if you never played much in the first place.

I presume you bought the game on other platforms or that you are just exaggerating/trolling... as you have all of 21 mins of playtime on Steam...

Your interest and sense of fun are dependent on you.
It's a sandbox, how fun/interesting is sand?

How long it takes to find the lush planets that are often featured in trailers is dependent on RNG and how much you actually explore in the first place... (you always start on a hazardous planet)

Maybe you should try turning settings down if your setup cant handle rendering fast enough with them on high...

You might be right about the game being boring. Although the biomes of the planets have a lot of variety, there is still nothing to do on these planets. But as you can see many people like it, it's not my place to judge them for that
9 years of updates and you're STILL not interested?

It is a chill game in my opinion. It is for the not-hurry who takes their time. And it is for player who like exploring and learning really free. You just do what you want to do.

I am super bad at this game, but I love it. And I think it is pretty beautiful. I have not bug for now. The down side for me it is the worlds seem a little bit empty and lack of animals/plants doing their things.

Maybe try to play with someone else ?

edit : trying to be more clear

Check my profile and my screenshots. You'll see that it's not lies.

And if you care about draw distance, you maybe are misunderstanding the game. Also, 1660 with FSR doesn't matter, the game is working mostly with the CPU, the GPU has nothing to do with it except the textures, FPS and screen resolution.
