Hello! After obtaining the sentinel brain, and pulse driving to contact the Atlas Beacon, the game will not let me progress. Everything is locked up expect the control to pulse drive. I cannot open the pause menu or anything really. After the Atlas beacon responds to being shown the brain, the game locks up completely. I have to force quit the game to be able to get back in but still can't progress. Just wanted to report on this.

Same here, but on Xbox. messenger of atlas does it's thing... I can hear I received something, but nothing is seen and I can't get away....

I found a solution but it ain't pretty and it involves a save editor.

1. Download - https://github.com/goatfungus/NMSSaveEditor
2. Backup your save.
3. Start program and use the File menu select the menu item 'Open File / Path' - Select your save directory.
4. In the main window select the right 'Game Slot' and 'Save File'.
5. Down the 'Edit' Menu select 'Edit Raw JSON' .
6. In the window that opens expand the tree item 'PlayerStateData' then click on 'MissionProgress' DO NOT EXPAND THIS ONE.
7. in the right panel press 'Ctrl-F' to search and look for 'SENTINELS_5'
8. Once it finds that there should be some text under that called 'Progress: ' and then a number, this represents the current step of the mission you're on. I changed the number to 37 and that should complete the mission.
9. Close the window and it will ask if you want to save changes, click yes.
10. Open the 'Exosuit' tab, right click a free inventory slot and click 'Add item'.
11. Search for 'Radiant Brain' and click 'save'.
12. Select the menu 'File' then 'Save'
13. Start your game and you should be on the next mission step.

This works good for me.

For those of you trying to do this quest to reach the new star systems a trace of metal is NOT required!

all that is required is finishing the main quest and this https://nomanssky.fandom.com/wiki/They_Who_Returned

Which requires starting the settlement quest-line but not finishing it
