Abandoned Mode
Do we have any more updates on this mode in regards to getting your own frigate, getting quest related ship types and getting to the new purple solar systems?

no it was added to ADRIFT because of no Life interactions. so only the abandoned mode gets all the new alt ways to do things without interacting with life.

I've been playing this mode for about an hour. At first, I didn't have access to the Anomaly, but it seemed to come after a few jumps. You can see other players there, and even do missions from the Nexus. You can also claim expedition items, etc. as per usual.
All space stations are the old standard abandoned style with a functioning teleporter, and sell point.
No freighters in the systems that I've seen and I've jumped about 15 times. I'm not sure how you'd get a freighter, unless they build in a new mechanic for this game mode. I didn't try claiming one of the two expedition reward frigates to see what it would say, if anything.
This mode isn't fully ironed out to 100%. At jump 10, I still got a distress notification for a settlement, got the mission in my log, and even flew into the system to see what would happen, and nothing did.
Still, I'm enjoying playing this, as it's a different game mode for certain. No ships and mats to buy from NPCs. No space combat, unless you bolt from a sentinel fight on the ground, and take to the sky, but I haven't tested that yet. So it certainly plays different, taking longer to progress than usual.

A HUGE 'Thank You' for trying & testing this mode out. I was quite curious: but as I suspected this mode's isn't really what I thought, hoped & assumed it to be.

No biggie, thanks. As you know, Hello Games never leaves anything as it is, so I'd expect this mode to evolve just like the rest of the game has. So, perhaps it will end up being what you're after.

Planetary Settlements were definitely left in a sort of "proof of concept" stage, as well as quite a few other things, so I wouldn't be holding my breath. HG seem to like to focus on new bright shiny things, and Abandoned mode doesn't seem to fit that category.

Eh, what?

You can recommission derelicts? Is that a thing that's actually in the game?

Or is that a suggestion?

And how exactly do you FIND a Derelict in this game mode since you can't buy the locators, or are you forced to go through dozens of locators you get from shooting asteroids?

I don't know how you would summon one, but I did have one just appear in space as I was pulsing. Sadly, I was only about 5 minutes from logging off at the time.

they show up more under the random pulsing event since there is less life. you can get the summons from the terminals in some systems.

I don't think you can acquire the Emergency Signal Scanner anywhere while in Abandoned mode, can you? I know you can occasionally get an Anomaly Detector while mining asteroids, and that Derelicts can sometimes spawn while pulsing in your ship. The latter happened to me in this game mode.

Ahhh, so they can appear in trade terminal inventory then. I'd forgotten that.

Hello! This is a problem in the "Abandoned Mode" mode. No fauna!
At the start of the game, on the first planet, there was one! On the following ones, it is already absent.
There was a case when fauna appeared, but not for long! That's why I had a question, is this not a game error!?

Happened to me as well. My first planet had fauna, none of the other planets had any. Weird thing though, I made a base on a paradise planet that had no fauna in it's description. I then jumped to a new solar system and came back, then all of a sudden my planet had faun all over the place. Even the description changed to show how many fauna existed on the planet.
