All space stations are the old standard abandoned style with a functioning teleporter, and sell point.
No freighters in the systems that I've seen and I've jumped about 15 times. I'm not sure how you'd get a freighter, unless they build in a new mechanic for this game mode. I didn't try claiming one of the two expedition reward frigates to see what it would say, if anything.
This mode isn't fully ironed out to 100%. At jump 10, I still got a distress notification for a settlement, got the mission in my log, and even flew into the system to see what would happen, and nothing did.
Still, I'm enjoying playing this, as it's a different game mode for certain. No ships and mats to buy from NPCs. No space combat, unless you bolt from a sentinel fight on the ground, and take to the sky, but I haven't tested that yet. So it certainly plays different, taking longer to progress than usual.
A HUGE 'Thank You' for trying & testing this mode out. I was quite curious: but as I suspected this mode's isn't really what I thought, hoped & assumed it to be.
No biggie, thanks. As you know, Hello Games never leaves anything as it is, so I'd expect this mode to evolve just like the rest of the game has. So, perhaps it will end up being what you're after.
Planetary Settlements were definitely left in a sort of "proof of concept" stage, as well as quite a few other things, so I wouldn't be holding my breath. HG seem to like to focus on new bright shiny things, and Abandoned mode doesn't seem to fit that category.
Eh, what?
You can recommission derelicts? Is that a thing that's actually in the game?
Or is that a suggestion?
And how exactly do you FIND a Derelict in this game mode since you can't buy the locators, or are you forced to go through dozens of locators you get from shooting asteroids?
I don't know how you would summon one, but I did have one just appear in space as I was pulsing. Sadly, I was only about 5 minutes from logging off at the time.
At the start of the game, on the first planet, there was one! On the following ones, it is already absent.
There was a case when fauna appeared, but not for long! That's why I had a question, is this not a game error!?
