Also, disabling MP doesn't prevent you from seeing player bases nor does it stop others from seeing your bases. If you don't want it to be found, just don't upload it.
If people are bothered, they can always report the base to remove it from their own game
1 portal per galaxy, especially if you pick a random one away from the core in a system you discovered that no one else is even likely to find in the first place, it's not a big deal. You don't need more than 1 per galaxy regardless - there's no point nor advantage.
Always.
Not negotiable.
There's way than enough space to build somewhere else in this game, there's just no need to interfere other peoples gaming in such an offensive way. <shrugs>
But I have seen lots of little open air bases near portals. Just place to pop in out of the weather, maybe even recharge resources. I always add a med charger and life support charger to mine. I appreciate when others do the same.
The chances of anybody finding your planet is nil, and the chances that they will find/want to use the portal your base is near is nil ontop of nil.
Now, obviously, in expeditions where a portal is important, then that is a bit different. There's generally no reason to build bases near portals; if you need a portal, a milestone will gladly guide you straight to it (or at least within 500u of it).
As I said before, you only need 1 per galaxy. If you have access to just 1, you can warp to anywhere you want in that entire galaxy.
If you pick one 600,000 LY from the center, the odds of anyone randomly stumbling across it are probably worse than winning the lotto. Building an enclosed base around one out in the sticks for your convenience is totally understandable. Keeps you out of the elements, give yourself a little teleporter to hop there instantly from anywhere. A galactic trade terminal & a landing pad... basically everything you're talking about placing a little ways away, but with the added convenience of having the portal inside & the ability to decorate it to your liking a bit.
Having just 1 per galaxy, out of the way where no one is ever going to be bothered by it, I can't find an issue with that. But some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ telling me to "mash that subscribe button" & making a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ video about his 100th portal base... ♥♥♥♥ that guy.
I had several portal bases at that time.

cambios en los portales, si los usas para ir y volver, tendrás que recargarlos, si los usas para ir y volver desde una estación espacial se mantendrá abierto (no tendrás que recargarlo).
pero todo puede cambiar.
if you read the entire post instead of just the title you would of seen that im not intending to block other players from using it at all and CLEARLY stated that from the start. it would be completely accessible to everyone and have a teleporter they can used as well....maybe even material to use to charge the portal. some other players may pull a D&^K move like that but im not that way especially if you take into account that i asked first instead of just doing it.
im not looking to build a little tiny box base im looking to build a massive one , pushing the build limit.
now i am going to just to get under your skin.
look for it when your out exploring.
I think they were just clearly stating their abbreviated opinion, not commenting on the specific situation.
Some people are just trolls at heart
Unless the base actually prevents you from interacting with the POI, then you're being a bit dramatic.
But either way, reporting just removes it from your game, I don't think HG actually follow up on the reports
Thankfully you can just report and it goes poof.
