Vezi statistici:
Should i keep using no man's sky experimental?
Hello
I started playing a few days before the Worlds 2 update and i had a few bugs after the update. I found out these bugs were fixed in experimental mode so i changed to that mode and it fixed the bugs and i have been using it ever since. Should i keep using experimental and what the downside of removing it? will i lose my save? would i need to re download the game? Will the bugs return? ( one of the bugs would crash my game if i tried to donate items to factions}
Thanks in advance for any advice

I'm planning to wait until the current round of bugs are mostly squashed and the update released to main before I consider switching back.

As I understand it, as long as the two branches are mostly synced, switching between them only causes a "small" download (just the files that are different) and shouldn't impact saves (but taking a back-up never hurts)

If you switch back from experimental to public, the game may not be able to load your save. You should know how to back up your saves in case something goes wrong.

Yes. The experimental branch is a different version of the game altogether. Going back to the public version will just have those bugs again.
You should always wait until the Main branch is patched to the same bugfixes as Experimental before switching back to main.
At the moment, main is 2 sets of fixes behind (18/2 and 20/2) and hopefully they'll both be rolled into main 5.58 in the next couple of days.

I think there are probably still quite a few Worlds Pt 2 fixes in the pipeline though so there may be justification to stay on the bleeding edge for another week or two.
So what i'm getting is to wait for a next main game patch, backup save then get rid of experimental mode. does that sound about right?
If you gain enjoyment from playing on the experimental branch: then do so. It comes with risks, and the implication that you should share any bugs with the developers. or, don't if you don't want to, but i think one should as i enjoy the review process as a writing exercise-- and of course it is beneficial to the community as a whole.

If you want out now you can back up your experimental save and try loading it into the stable version, see what happens, but don't be surprised if it doesn't work. :cozybethesda::arther::specialforcesninja::cozyspaceengineersc::x4spacesuit:
There's a couple downside with experimental.... first it's expected to be unstable and buggier than the release version, even if it does fix some bugs still present in the release version.
Second it might not nbe compatible with mods and the save editor..... both bring some very usefull QoL (and cheat too) features that no experimental branch could.... tho with the new MT and starship archive feature, the save editor have almost ceased to have any purpose for me, beside sorting the order my MT and starships or tranferring cargo between vehicles of the same type....
