As I understand it, as long as the two branches are mostly synced, switching between them only causes a "small" download (just the files that are different) and shouldn't impact saves (but taking a back-up never hurts)
Yes. The experimental branch is a different version of the game altogether. Going back to the public version will just have those bugs again.
At the moment, main is 2 sets of fixes behind (18/2 and 20/2) and hopefully they'll both be rolled into main 5.58 in the next couple of days.
I think there are probably still quite a few Worlds Pt 2 fixes in the pipeline though so there may be justification to stay on the bleeding edge for another week or two.
If you want out now you can back up your experimental save and try loading it into the stable version, see what happens, but don't be surprised if it doesn't work.
Second it might not nbe compatible with mods and the save editor..... both bring some very usefull QoL (and cheat too) features that no experimental branch could.... tho with the new MT and starship archive feature, the save editor have almost ceased to have any purpose for me, beside sorting the order my MT and starships or tranferring cargo between vehicles of the same type....
