Workaround to the Profanity Filter

D’oh, once again I find myself in a Homer moment, even after 4000+ hours. The save editor will allow you to name bases, ships and MT anything you want. The games profanity filter only does its job when you try to enter the name in game.

I’m not out here naming stuff stupid profane things, but we all know some of the stuff we try to use and are not allowed to is ridiculous. And some of those words are used by the devs in the game. Well, problem solved.

Yeah but if someone finds your offensively-named base/ship/multitool they can still report you

Maybe, but I doubt a base named "Paradise Planet #3" will be reported as offensive. But the filter won't let me name it that.

All reporting does is remove it for you, from your instance of the game.

For one, I doubt they have the staff to sort through thousands of reports to determine which ones are legit. Some people are just easily offended and report everything. Some people report bases because in their mind it's built somewhere that shouldn't be allowed. Some report bases just to make them go away so they can build in the same location. Also, the game is world wide. I could build or name something that is perfectly fine while someone on the other side of the Earth might take offense.
