Only Nexus missions have been designed with co-op in mind, Everything else (specifically the story missions) is single player with no co-op elements whatsoever. Even the "Community Expeditions" are a solo experience with some of them having "cumulative player contributions" that you really have no control over.
It's cool to know that you can run into other players and do missions with them, see their bases etc but the game still isn't really built for that and it's very janky.
