**** NEVER OVERWRITE YOUR SAVED FILES ****
This is for save slot #15. I played thru the expedition, claiming all the normal rewards (many are required to progress thru the expedition). I DID NOT claim any of the Phase rewards NOR did I claim the final reward (The Wraith).
Note: I have not re-tested this procedure since the past several expeditions but you "should" be able to load up this save even AFTER the expedition has completed and claim all SIX rewards. My save file for Exp16 was just used after the v5.5x release, so everything should still work as expected.

INSTRUCTIONS:
QUIT the game. Download the file. Open the zip file and copy all FOUR of the save files into your NMS save directory. Load up the game and choose the save named "Exp17 Claimable Save"

Edit: @smurfy beat me... I type slow :( Thank you @smurfy!
In windows, search for %APPDATA% - this will allow you to access the normally hidden folder.
My Windows 11 PC opens up in the "roaming" subfolder. If yours doesn't, find the "roaming" subfolder. Now find the HelloGames folder and open it. Now open the NMS folder.
Inside you'll find yet another folder named "st_1231345412" Your numbers will actually be your SteamID. Inside this folder is where you place the 4 files and again NEVER OVERWRITE any existing files as you may already have a save in slot #15
This is a good thing your doing, A VERY good thing, keep it up & please continue, maybe not in this vein, but your consideration for others amidst glitches & broken Game mechanics is for many A VERY welcome windfall.
Though I'm done with the expo about A week & a half now & this is of no value in & of itself, save for the consideration showed to fellow players, which is truly A more valuable thing.
Again, it may not come or be in the same way again, but keep it up, it does A fella good to see others with A desire to help out when things get stupid.
Had everything but the damn fishes... can't for the love of me spend time in a space game fishing so thanks for that ; )
i can't tell you how mortified i was. anyway, i found this page and tried to download your save files and would try and play on from there. so i could play through worls2. i did start again prior to that, but my heart is just not in for the slog back to where i was. please can you tell me if these save files are what i need to let me move on to worlds 2 or should i be looking for something else?
On to your 2nd issue, the corrupt save. Fortunately, the (goatfungus) Save Editor makes a backup copy before saving your edits. Open the folder that contains the editor and look for a "backups" sub-folder.
I recommend that you try the backups in date sequence (meaning try the newest one first).
The zip file will only contain two files which represent 1/2 of your saves. You will most likely have to remove all four files related to your corrupted save. Copy the 2 files from the backup zip and duplicate those files and rename them to match the other 1/2 of your save.
This sounds confusing; it's not. For example, here are the files required for save slot #2:
save3.hg
mf_save3.hg
save4.hg
mf_save4.hg
To hopefully clear up how theses files work in game; while playing you can make a "Restore Point" (hop out of your ship) and then game makes an "Autosave" (at a minimum of every 2 minutes)

NOTE: If you need help, post back in this thread - I'm monitoring it. Good Luck
