I can only but assume that your first LS is always looking like that? I find it hard to believe that in 5-6 save files I somehow stumbled upon the same model over and over again.
I do not feel like grinding up QS for more eggs to get more LS to get one that doesn't look so plain and drab and thankfully the Wraith kinda fixes both that, and the stupid QS requirement for the Void Egg.
The appearance isn't random, it's tied to the location it's found in. You can look up pics of ships with coordinates where you can go to get them. You can take a little bit of RNG out of the enormous random number generator that this amazing game is.
By now though... I'd have thought we'd see LS modules at a few select space stations...

Like, this is the exact same ship:

The only time I bothered getting one, there was this trick to keep reloading a restore point before approaching the actual living ship quest last marker (EDIT: or maybe I would reload and go to a different spot each time, tbh, I forget), each time the ship would spawn differently or something. So I got to see quite a few (btw, I don't know if that still works). The one I picked was sort of yellowish-grey with ranbow luminescence spots. Sometimes it looked blue. Sometimes it looked light yellow/purple. Sometimes it looked greyish. I didn't like the 1st person cockpit nor the supposed work to upgrade it so I ditched it. :P
I also just generally found them ugly. Personal taste of course. :D

What perks does it have the new LS?
I went to Eissentam to find my all red living ship.
