Missing bases after Titan expedition
I finished the expedition and had a pretty good time. I got all of my rewards on the vendor and I can see all of the purple systems I visited in my discoveries, but all of my bases are gone.

I'm especially bummed about the deep water one I made at like 850u on the water world. Did anyone else lose their bases when returning to the main save?

The expedition is not a short cut to the purple planets. It's a teaser. Once you get through all the quests and legit open up the purple planets, all the bases will pop into view. I wish HG had been a bit more up front about it but they do say its a "Preview" of the new systems.

You have lost nothing.

I know this because I did the expedition on a save that has finished Multitudes and everything is there, as it should be.

aaHHHhh

well, ok. good to know o.0

my problem is, there are sooo many new food items and i didnt even finish artemis or atlas. one lifetime isnt enough for this game :)
Well now's a good time to start. They have edited the early questlines so they are not as much of a drill as a few years ago. Just plod through them, should take just a few hours or evenings.

Are you sure the bases will appear after completing the mission?
That would mean the data is being saved but in a restricted state (something they haven't done before in NMS afaik).
It's just as likely (and in my opinion, more likely) that the bases are simply lost if you don't have purple systems unlocked already...

Also, you apparently keep purple systems (and the bases therein) unlocked if you start the expo as an entirely new save.

It has been verified by multiple players (including myself) that for existing saves, completing In Stellar Multitudes after completing the Expedition does not "un-hide" your Expedition Purple system bases and Space Station Teleport entries. They are gone. You can get back to the Expedition systems using your Discoveries list, but your base(s) will simply not exist.
I was just thinking that maybe this is a new feature they are testing out if they do plan to make expeditions available on some regular basis at the expedition hub. Having all the player crap disappear when you exit would make the upkeep for HG easier.

I am guessing they are finding it very hard to have the game auto build a route and they still have to set the "rules" for what is available and other strategic pieces. If the expeditions were available more often some one either has to go in and clean up the area on a regular basis or have a way it cleans itself as players exit.

damn, i already felt like missing something, when they recently changed something about the atlas path. i wish i had time to research about what changed, but it would also spoil me even more.... they changed things, i didnt witness yet :(

its not that i dont want to do story, but i want to experience it, not plod through.. like.. then i could just not play it ;)

i know some things of the story. dont want to have to decide artemis faith. am just a little astronaut... why is this on me xd
atlas is horrible frightening. and it feels like my char is happy just cooking things.
maybe am roleplaying idk, i dont even kill the oxy plants, harvest them while passing by....

its more a thing of..

first i need to clean up my bases, because that corvax that promised to clean, didnt do it...
learn about 300 new recipies
clean up my ships and fregates, try finally finding an S class freighter
and 100 things more :D while they constantly add even more....

i d like to indulge(?) the amazing and mysterious, philosophical story. and i know myself, i ll get sidetracked. for now the plan is to invest some (100??) more hours in sorting my things :D
thankfully i didnt feel ready to be a settlement leader, pretty early on in game. like.. you just started base building and then they want you to be a major?

sry the long type
am happy the game lets you play as you wish, no pressure, unless you pressure yourself.

Yeah, that's what I expected. Thanks for confirming
I think your bases not showing up if you don't do the Multitudes questline until after you finish Ex17 is a bug. That's my theory and I'm stickin to it until proven wrong. Having done the quest before I was curious and it was the first thing I did after completing the expedition and picking up my goodies. I visited all four of my bases and they were all there, updated a couple of them with the new posters, on experimental.

Doesn't appear to be how it works, actually

I did the expedition without having access to purple systems, When I finished, the bases were gone. So I completed Stellar Multitudes... and the bases are STILL gone.

So it appears that if you have not done Stellar Multitudes BEFORE the expedition, you lose access to any bases you create while on it permanently once the expedition is done.
Yeah, others have been having that happen too. HG will fix at some point. They already have made it so new saves made for X17 are a shortcut to purple planets and they wont have to do Multitudes quest, it wont even show up. This patch has been a bit problematic on many levels. So much confusion.
I can confirm bases disappear, I did Titan via anomaly terminal on main save without finishing main story first.

After completing expedition, I spent several days catching up story and finishing In Stellar Multitudes, but my Titan bases were still gone...

I am now building new bases in the expedition systems so I can return to them later

My story is similar however if i can't play in 4k i won't play part 2 and will just continue with expedition. I also just took all the space station portals during the event and had no need to build bases.

Well today, I was happy to finish the 17th expedition, until I discovered the bases I have build are all missing in my main save.

I spent hours to build these bases, I am not amused by this bug.

So far the game is dead for me.

And don't tell me that I have to throw salt over my shoulders or if I do a quest, these bases will be back. This have to be stated by Hello Games, not by rumors. And a fix is required reading previous posts above.
