- this has been an infrequent issue for all of the the last few Expeditions (not the Reduxes) with some rendezvous systems seemingly overloaded with player bases to download.
For me, that didn't work. But I am glad to know it's a well known issue. It probably means that people don't lose their save files as a consequence (it wouldn't have lasted so much if it was that bad).
- Set Steam to offline in the Steam settings
- Start NMS, which will load fairly quickly. Take care of whatever objectives you need in the rendezvous system.
- Warp to a different system that is NOT one of the rendezvous systems.
- Save and quit the game.
- Set Steam to online.
The key is to not save and quit in one of the rendezvous systems. For expeditions, I usually build a base on a planet at least 500 light years away from the expedition route. This avoids the crowded systems which can be slow to load. I save and quit from this base during expeditions.
