Again, more RNG.
When I did it, I only saw *one* box and that wouldn't have been enough.
But yes, between boxes, barnacles on the surface and formations in caves, you will eventually find enough, and with TWO overshields, you can last quite awhile, and Na flowers are everywhere.
Honestly, you have a bigger danger of dying to the stupid tornadoes than anything else.
Yeah its annoying for you because you cant handle challenge lol
So far i had no problems in new update or in new Expedition, I just love NMS
Why would you watch a movie twice? Got a favorite TV show? No need to ever rewatch an episode, right? I would say a favorite book, but it's obvious that 80% of the players on this forum have learned to read from a coloring book, so that's not a very good example anymore.
All of those big crystals on all the hillsides say they are made of Salt...AT FIRST.
If you scan them, and then try blasting a few, you will find that they are about 55% Salt, 45% Oxygen.
You have a refiner.
1x Oxy => 1x Carbon.
In addition, there are patches of 4-5 Condensed Carbon crystal clusters about every 70u, in almost all of the terrain. Try walking around as far as you can get before having to turn back...or, here's a thought, try moving your ship, or take a longer walk by carving a rest cave with your TerrManip.
Again, refiner.
1x ConCarb => 2x Carbon.
Yes, it is a sucky, annoying planet, but it is a challenge, not a player trap.
Carry on.
Newer players to the game or those that don't appreciate a challenge might have had a different experience. Expeditions are all about thinking on your feet, or in the air...
I know that, but I made a mistake in coming to this planet, I needed ferrite and I didn't calculate my fuel, this planet doesn't contain quartzite or activated quartzite, only ferrite, cobalt and sodium, but sodium is a little rare, and the only resource deposits it has is rusty metal. But it doesn't matter anymore, I just put it aside and continue with my main save, it doesn't bother me anymore. I don't mean to say that the expeditions are bad, I just didn't enjoy the experience, it's just personal taste.
I have troubles with carbon on the starting planet as well but there are things you can convert into carbon, you need a refiner and a little curiosity. Come on, its a game about exploration! Go put that thing into refiner and see what happens!
Personally, I didnt like this exp as it has ZERO of the narrative. Just simple "go there, do that, make this".
Boring.
All previous was interesting when you uncover the story behind it. Like about that guy who fed himself to the xenomorphs.... . Im not saying it was a masterpiece but at least it was something.
I should have done exactly as you described, but I made the mistake of ignoring the objectives and went in search of ferrite without calculating my fuel. I landed on a planet loaded with ferrite and cobalt, I should have mined quartzite and copper when I had the chance on the first planet, I just acquired what I needed at the time. It's ok, I have the main save, anyway I was already finding it boring and annoying before this happened to me, I didn't like the experience. I just tried to do an expedition to try out different quests, the rewards don't interest me.
But thanks for the guide, it's very useful and will help a lot of players.
What are the 3 resources listed for the planet?
If I still remember, it was ferrite, cobalt and rusty metal, but I'm not sure, I haven't been on the expedition for a few days, and I need resources for warp and speed, if I remember I'm more than 3 hours from the nearest planet and the system doesn't have a space station. I got bored and ventured out in search of a challenge, and the challenge caught me. I made too many mistakes and I was too confident.
But it's only now that I've realized that the parts where I had the most fun were when I made those mistakes, maybe my experience wasn't as bad as I thought, I was just bored at the time. As it was my first expedition, perhaps I judged too soon, perhaps I will try again later.
