Things to bring to Titan Expedition?
I don't mind expeditions but at the same time kinda dislike being forced to start (an albeit temporary) new save for them, and in an ideal world would prefer the option to just use my existing save so I can scoot through the expedition without having to worry too much about inventory / ship upgrades and all the other what have you...

But I can't so with that in mind is there anything in particular that I should bring along to make the expedition a bit less tedious? I'm thinking quartzite and the other new materials, plus I always bring some tech to sell for nanites and also a bunch of inventory upgrades.

Anything else I should prioritise?

Thanks

I would say you don’t NEED the new materials. You start on a gas giant and can mine them right away.

I didn’t bring anything as it was my first expedition but I still managed to finish it in a little over a day so even with nothing it goes quick.

Oh nice, might have saved me a bit of time. Will try to look for something like that next time around.

I think, the most important thing, is to bring a pre-build freighter-quartzid-drive to install in your freighter, you will eventually get in the expedition.

If you don't do this, you have to farm 4+5+8+12+12 frigate moduls just for the quartzid-drive... it's NOT unlocked automatically, as the ship-drive is, but you can learn it from the freighter-upgrade console. I did overlook this, first, however. (It's the very last star-drive option.)

All things metioned in the abough post, can easily be made / found in the expedition itself.

Oh, and if you have spare frigate-moduls, that's also a good idea. You can't set the buying option to "free" in the expedition...

Of course, this isn't nessecarily needed, if you intend to rush the expedition, without bothering of a freighter. (but then: how boring!)

You don't need freighter at all.
Looms? I don't do the expos from the Anomaly but looms I find are always nice to have for tech recipes.

Yeah I don't think I've ever bothered with freighters in expeditions at all unless it's been a specific requirement...

Thanks all

It's worth to have one, if you actuall wnat to PLAY the expedition and not just to rush it...

I already said, that it isn't nessecary, if you want to just rush the expedition for the rewards.
But the normal freighter-events will appear, and you will get the opportunity to get one.

It makes things a lot easier on basis. But not, if the freighter isn't able to reach any system you want...

Courage and some common sense :)

I brought nothing to expedition 17. Started a whole new save.

The freighter can just be used as a extra storage capacity. Even if you don't build the actual storage inventories on it. I got my freighter at the normal battle on the 5th warp jump.

This,

But the one I got, was one of the worst I ever saw. A C-class with - I suppose - the smallest inventory possible. Luckily, the evernts continue as in the normal game. Although, the bug, where you need to have the money for exchange in the normal way, is stiill there. (It won't get charged, but you need to have the balance. This is obviously a bug and can happen or not...)

You can still use it as a farm, however. And of course, as an addtional mobile storage. The problem is, that you only will have access to yellow stars, and It's not worth it to farm all the frigate-modules needed to unlock the quartzid-drive...

At least, some rooms are already unlocked: the normal farming-room (with 2 slots), the refinery-room, the flotilla-room. And with a little luck, pre-build-scanner-room and other pre-build usable rooms. (although I got the worst, at least, this was the case for me...)

So, if you start from a normal save, I definitly recommend the pre-built quartzid-drive and a pre-built material-teleporter-modul.

Actually, that is the only thing you cannot bring (or return) with you.

I see detailed lists above already, but usually, you don't want to run into spoilers all that much, and a general recommendation would be to go with a selection of your preferred raw materials (O2, C+, Fe+ etc), upgrades (e.g. ship warp range) and something to sell for units and nanites.

Wiring Looms? yeah... i look for them on every Space Station i stop in... along with visiting the Guild, talking to every NPC, and grabbing all the free loot... i do eventually reach a point where i don't buy all of them on sight  :steamhappy::steammocking:

I usually just bring some basic resources (oxygen, sodium, chromatic metal, tritium, warp fuel).

This one doesn’t need anything crazy unless you want to speedrun it.

I think common sense is also correct. The start is apparently very rough on some people in this one.
