Where to find Activated Copper?
I have two items I need to fix for a long time. According to Internet Information I can find it with my default scanner on planets circling yellow suns. My home base is circling a yellow sun. Why can I not find this Activated Copper?

stormy lush planets (overgrown/tropical/etc), yellow star systems
Hovering over Activated Copper in your Catalog should offer you an option to locate it. It'll place a new quest in your Log

It's worth pointing out that scanning a planet from space is not always accurate. Sometimes it might say copper, but it reality it has activated copper. The only way to know for sure is to land on it.
Any extreme weather planet in a yellow system will do. Follow advice from @Grimmslayer73.

This is the correct answer.
Doesn't the game tutorialize this the first time you need activated anything?

Most steps and hints are detailed in the Mission Log pages. Missions can be pinned and also resources from the Catalogue can be pinned by hovering over any item and reading the hints should say which key press will pin the item like a mission to help you locate things on the Galactic map or follow pop up hints, perhaps listing the resources needed to be collected or found to complete a goal.

A pinned or focused missions usually pops up the hints from the log pages bottom right of the live game screen. Much of the game works this way and uses pinned pop ups to follow and lead a player to the goals. Mission icons can also be spotted on the Galactic map when the correct mission is the focus and can lead you to the correct star to complete a mission. Icons also stack on the teleport lists of space stations. It's also easy to get side-tracked in the game (part of the fun) but forget what you were following. : D

On console if you miss any pop up information you can cycle through the live screen information pop ups by pressing right or left? on the D-Pad. Also check the correct mission is being followed on the log pages every so often, if you get lost at any time. Selecting a mission log and reloading can also help sometimes get you back on the correct path to a goal.
