Hello Games  [developer] Mar 7 @ 7:55am
Experimental Branch 07/03
Hello Everyone,

First of all, thanks so much to everyone who has already spent time playing No Man's Sky and letting us know about any issues you've experienced.

To play in Experimental, right-click on No Man's Sky from the Steam library page and select "Properties". Among the available tabs will be the "BETAS" tab. Enter "3xperimental" in the textbox and press "CHECK CODE", then select it from the dropdown menu.

The patch notes are as follows:

Experimental Branch 07/03
  • Updated to vulkan.dll version 1.4.307.
  • Fixed some DLSS issues.
  • Fixed some stereo issues which cause certain effects to appear differently in the left and right eye when playing PCVR.
  • Fixed a few rare crashes.

As always, thank you to all players who use Experimental and take the time to report any issues you encounter.

Please note there is the possibility that experimental builds may introduce new issues that haven't been caught in test. We'd like to recommend that all players back up their save files, by making a local copy of the st_[userid] folder found here on PC: %appdata%\HelloGames\NMS\ and here on mac: ~/Library/Application Support/HelloGames/NMS/

Note that we don't anticipate any issues here. However, performing your own backups could mean the difference between resuming play immediately, or waiting for the next patch.

If you decide to opt out of experimental and return to the main branch, we strongly recommend resuming from a backed-up save from the main branch, rather than taking an experimental branch save back to main, which may cause unexpected behaviour.

Feedback and reports of new bugs/issues being found on Experimental are welcome, so please reply to this thread or submit a ticket to https://hellogames.zendesk.com/ with the phrase "Steam Experimental" in the ticket title. If you are running any mods for the game, please list them along with your bug report.

Still no underwater base fixes??? Things disappearing if they're less than 300u deep and Cuboid rooms constantly glitching and thinking I'm underwater with that splash effect and draining life support. I have reported it weeks ago on Zendesk! I've been put off playing the game for a week now because it's so annoying and I wont come back until it's fixed.

ooh, maybe frame gen will work now?

The constantly zooming in and out when your character is in a base, does anybody else has this problem?
when can my ship dive underwater?
Hope something gets done about the frequent periods of lag after 30 min. to an hour of playing. There seems to be no reason/cause to trigger this low framerates/lag.

Yes happens to me as well. I think it is inherent to the game as the camera is a physical object within the game with collision detection. Any game that has the camera like this this issue appears so I think this more to do with whether or not the devs want to change the camera to have no collision detection, which could introduce issues with the camera clipping through the ground on planets and visuals getting really weird. Just my thoughts

A way I semi-combat this is not standing to close to walls and other vertical objects. Easier send than done when working in confined spaces

Mac issues still present that I have reported to the Zendesk but also if any other mac players have the same issues

- multi tool will go invisible in first person after cycling past the fishing rod
- when mining resources with terrain manipulator the screen will flash white repeatedly very quickly. After testing in different systems this does seem limited to purple systems
- metallic and light coloured objects are blindingly bright when near light sources
- excessive bloom levels which seem to have been introduced since 5.53
- Flying sentinel ships first person causes planet atmospheres and space to flicker and when. the cockpit closes on entry there are visual artefacts
- grass on paradise planets has a very noticeable pop in affect now and is very inconsistent often just appearing in patches of squares here and there

Yes, it drives me crazy. I do hope they get some free time to work on smaller issues like this soon. In the mean time I've been acquiring a Freighter and just using that as my primary mobile base so I don't have to deal with it.
What are the perceivable advantages of vulkan v1.4.307 over the previous one? Official changelog lists changes that I'm guessing only devs can understand.

Maybe try and fix vr optimization. There's no reason why I have to run it on medium settings with low render resolution when I can play all other vr games on ultra at high resolution with no problems.

And what about the invisible/disappearing base parts?
To me (PC Steam) game seems more stable: less crash on booting, fps always costant and something more in number, then minor lags in certain situations.
...but remain a terrible excessive light in open space and more severe ugly inside caverns and buildings! (At the point that even colors are falsed, I'm obliged to use and configure Reshade also for this aspect)

If the Vile Egg float is already unlocked on another save in the same account, it cannot be unlocked again on other saves in the same Steam account.

In the video, defeating the Deepwater Guardian should have unlocked the Vile Egg float. But as seen in the video, it didn't unlock it.

https://youtu.be/RlE3zaFknGI

The same goes for the Jellyfish Tank helm customization which is also unlocked by defeating Deepwater Guardian. If the helm is unlocked on one save, it cannot be unlocked again on other saves of the same Steam account by defeating the Deepwater Guardian.

Video taken on experimental branch 07/03. No mods.

Reported to Zendesk with save file and account data file provided.
