Yes happens to me as well. I think it is inherent to the game as the camera is a physical object within the game with collision detection. Any game that has the camera like this this issue appears so I think this more to do with whether or not the devs want to change the camera to have no collision detection, which could introduce issues with the camera clipping through the ground on planets and visuals getting really weird. Just my thoughts
A way I semi-combat this is not standing to close to walls and other vertical objects. Easier send than done when working in confined spaces
- multi tool will go invisible in first person after cycling past the fishing rod
- when mining resources with terrain manipulator the screen will flash white repeatedly very quickly. After testing in different systems this does seem limited to purple systems
- metallic and light coloured objects are blindingly bright when near light sources
- excessive bloom levels which seem to have been introduced since 5.53
- Flying sentinel ships first person causes planet atmospheres and space to flicker and when. the cockpit closes on entry there are visual artefacts
- grass on paradise planets has a very noticeable pop in affect now and is very inconsistent often just appearing in patches of squares here and there
Yes, it drives me crazy. I do hope they get some free time to work on smaller issues like this soon. In the mean time I've been acquiring a Freighter and just using that as my primary mobile base so I don't have to deal with it.
...but remain a terrible excessive light in open space and more severe ugly inside caverns and buildings! (At the point that even colors are falsed, I'm obliged to use and configure Reshade also for this aspect)
In the video, defeating the Deepwater Guardian should have unlocked the Vile Egg float. But as seen in the video, it didn't unlock it.

The same goes for the Jellyfish Tank helm customization which is also unlocked by defeating Deepwater Guardian. If the helm is unlocked on one save, it cannot be unlocked again on other saves of the same Steam account by defeating the Deepwater Guardian.
Video taken on experimental branch 07/03. No mods.
