Report a translation problem
If you have any, even a sliver, you can refine all you need. You can usually find some upgrade in your suit, tool, or ship that breaks down to cad if you don't have a sliver.
As a test, take the red and higher hyperdrives out of your ship (don't dismantle them, just store them in cargo for a few minutes). If you can still go to the star, it is yellow.
If you have any of the filters set on the galaxy map, those change what the colors mean - with the economy filter active, red is a particular economy type, and similarly with the conflict filter. If you are looking for a particular stellar metal, make sure the filter is set to "no filter".

There is a letter designation for color class for the stars, (F G M K E B O), see the list below for what they mean.
Check the class before warping, so you really have the right type of star selected.
And if the problem is that you have difficulty distinguishing between certain colors, you can change the colors on the map in the Options menu.
