Aquatic Treasure?

It is one of the last objective I need to complete. Is it as simple as doing the following:
1. Go to water planet
2. pop cartographic data until observatory drops
3. Complete observatory puzzle
4. Get ruins location

I'm open to hearing other methods of completion.

Honestly, I just wandered around in the Nautilus until I found an undersea ruin. Then I just got a key from the monument and dug a chest out from the sea floor around the ruin.

Aye. The Nautilus has a scanner which allows detecting buildings and sorts.

Maybe I'll just find a water world I like and build my first water base.

I don't believe an Observatory will ever point to an Underwater Ruin. Honestly, Nautilon is the best way to find one directly.

The easy way is to just check out the player bases. At least one should be located next to an underwater ruin. Be aware that you will probably need to report the base so you can dig for the treasure.
