I have to talk to Helios on the space anomaly??????
I have to talk to Helios on the space anomaly as part of the story quest, Since I talked to him on the way in & shared my discoveries. Now I have to explore the space anomaly & talk to people. Helios has a pink diamond over his head indicating that I need to talk to him but now the "share discoveries is greyed out & the other option goes nowhere.
I cant progress now what do I do?

Be sure the Space Anomaly quest is selected in the Log. One thing you will come to know with NMS is the quest Log selection has ADHD.

Sometimes you need to talk to them in correct order or it bugs. Nada first then polo sends you to Helios then Ares i think. Then on to the crafting area. If you can reload when you landed i would start there.

Yes I've figured out that NMS is picky. I have 3 games stuck at different points because I talked to the "wrong "person

Yeah, I did the same thing; just like I always do... To make it worse, I always remember as I click the dialog option to cash in some discoveries for nanites that I should have talked to Nada first. :steamfacepalm:

On the bright side, you can always go discover some more of whatever he wants, then come back.

Helios' conversation options reset once a day ( I don't know if that is 24 hours after you talk to him, or at some specific outside-world time, like noon UTC), so if you go do something else and come back tomorrow, you should be able to get the mission to progress.

worth a try thanks

Make sure you make enough discoveries that you have something to give him. When you try tomorrow. If you don't have any of what he wants when it resets you have to wait another 24 hours.

If you don't mind fiddling with things you can use the save editor to advance the mission or set your clock 24 hours ahead to reset him.

1: You responded to a very old comment. This is called a "necro" (as in necromancy; that is, reviving something that was "dead"), and is typically frowned upon unless something of value was added to the discussion with the thread's resurrection.
2: You didn't add anything of value to the conversation; this is just bad form, regardless.
3: I'm fairly certain that the game is/was not "stuck", it's just that the OP didn't know how to proceed; those are two entirely different things.
4: From what I've seen described in this thread, the worst case scenario is: do something else until tomorrow, then try again. The better "fix" would be to simply leave, make some discoveries in the category Helios wanted, then re-enter the Anomaly and turn them in, thus progressing the "quest". It looks like that wasn't an option due to having already turned in the discoveries, so waiting (up to 24 hours) for Helios' goals to reset would have been the fix.

Edited to add: Ooh, thank you for the Jester award! I appreciate the Steam points, and I'm glad you were amused by my attempt to educate you on the subject of forum etiquette while answering your question.

Hello everyone, I managed to solve this problem using a mod I found on Nexus Mods. Since I'm not sure if I can post links here, here's the exact name of the mod: "Fix Helios Story". It's quite easy to install and it fixes the bug. I don't know if it has any impact on the online mode of the game, but it does fix the issue.

Found this as a top result when searching for a fix to the bug. Regardless you come off like a total clown. Here have some more useless points, spend them on your wifu.

Sure, be mad at me instead of implementing the solution. Spend your "useless points" giving me more purchasing power for gizmos and stuff.

Go somewhere you haven't been, scan some rocks. Scan some plants. Scan some animals. Come back and talk to Helios again, and everything continues.

If that doesn't work, it takes up to 20 hours of "real time" for Helios' dialog options to reset... whether you're playing or not.

To be honest, I'm not convinced this is a bug... in my perception, it's more like a speed bump for speedrunners. People who enjoy this game end up playing for hundreds of hours, if not thousands, so it's not like a delay of a single day is going to kill you.

Next time (and with the passion most of you so obviously have, there will be a next time), follow the instructions you were given and talk to Nada first. Learn from the experience.

TL;DR: Find something else to do until Helios resets. :nmsatlas:
