Ah, no way. Not strictly. I enjoy leisurely strolls through space and base building. I also like having the option for PvP. But this game isn’t hot on that feature, even though it is implemented, and so I think other games would be a better investment for me for the time being. Especially with all of the reasons that have been brought to light such as no anti-cheat, etc.
Personally, I enjoy the way SEA OF THIEVES handles it. Everyone is in the same server with no option to disable PvP. Come what may. I enjoy chaos, is all. I appreciate all of the quick responses!
The only other activities is trying to kill aimless new players who don't yet know how to set their network settings...and that they are important.
I have seen a couple of posts where players tried to get something going. You might try Reddit.
End of the day, it is pretty lame, even if you want to do it. Find a game that promotes that stuff.
Sounds more like you're wanting forced pvp, Where you can seal club. If that's the case there's always invasions in Elden Ring.
I’m not quite sure what forced PvP would be. If it’s enabled in the game then it’s an optional feature to engage with. I also don’t know what seal club is. I guess this is what middle age feels like? Woof. And yeah, I have been PvP-ing in Souls games since their conception. I enjoy some Elden Ring.
For reasons already stated here, having multiplayer turned on is a very bad idea. PvP is even worse. There are a lot of hackers and modders and nothing that can be done about them. Hell is other people in this game. You want to go for that S class alien multitool?
If multiplayer is on chances are it will not be there. If pvp is on some modder can speed gank you in the comfort of his Invincibility all the way from the other side of the planet. Everything should be arranged and agreed upon, and you should preferably know the person you are playing with well enough at least to the level of co-workers or better.
The first thing streamers do is turn off most of the games networking functions outside of the Discovery server itself. I would play this game as if you were streaming it, and mitigate all potentialities of outside interference. There is no boundary failure when I play except for the ones I visit on glitch worlds. I have also heard rumors of people being given corrupt items that can bork their saves.
I absolutely can respect that. I guess it just comes down to my personal opinion that with such a lorge game, and with so much potential for PvP not utilized, it just isn’t what I am currently in the mood to play. I also think I was kind of expecting more PvP due to the Space Pirate upgrade taking place. I know I’ll come back around to it. Each update looks more rad than the previous.
pvp would be even more terrible in nms. Modders, Unbalanced upgrades, etc. Would get pretty annoying if I built a base on a nice planet and suddenly a bunch of sweatlords showed up and kept blowing up my stuff.
Nms doesn't need forced pvp like that. If you want pvp in a space game, Go play Star citizen.
I thoroughly understand what you’re saying but claiming an integrated feature such as PvP is forced in-game simply because you do not like it is both erroneous and personal preference. If PvP is a feature you do not enjoy, simply do not play those games. Reading the label and then willingly ignoring the label does not warrant grounds to express remorse. If one is given the information and plays the game anyway—that is on that person, not the game.
