Expedition walker brain...
I am not finding the sentinel walker to fight so I can get the brain. Is there another way to get one?

Just kill a bunch of sentinels. One will show up.

You really don't need to get one. You just need to find a pirate system. If you have the economy scanner installed, just look for systems with a skull showing in the stats and warp there.

I was so happy when I found that out because the killing sentinels is so frustrating to me.

Good to know. I am not good at fighting. I get motion sick & tend to die lots, lol.

You can get a Walker Brain from Outlaw Mission rewards.

you can get a brain from a regular mission at space stations too. Doesn't have to be an outlaw one.
If you kill the big walkers tho be sure and shoot the cannister, don't try to pick it up. iirc that gives you the engine piece.

Some of the missions in space stations and Anomaly give them out. Otherwise the Walker does not show up until wave 5 with the sentinels, and even then it can get stuck in terrain, or not drop a brain.

As others pointed out it is best to just use the economy scanner or jump to a player base with pirates.

Some of those missions cost too much reputation loss. By the time you kill 6-8 fighters at a loss for each then another 10 cargo pods at a loss for each.

I don't think you lose rep for destroying the cargo pods? I usually lose 4 standing from destroying 4 fighters, but that's Raid a Capital Ship missions. If you go for the ones where you take out pirates you actually gain standing for each fighter you take out. They wouldn't make you lose 16-18 standing for one mission.

So check missions at the Anomaly... Walker Brains are reasonable common rewards.

Just tested it, you lose 1 standing per fighter but lose 0 standing for destroying cargo pods. I'm on the experimental branch.

So the 10 pods in the freighter are not cumulative like the floating cargo pods.

I hit a nearby fleet after the missions and I must have lost a couple dozen points shooting all the floating cargo pods.

Was really lame and cheesy because nothing fought back except a few turrets. I think I made like 30 million selling all the illegal goods.

You can buy Suspicious Packet (Goods) at pirate stations. These can contain Walker Brains. They can also contain Storm Crystals.

Yeah I've just been doing it through Outlaw Missions, make about 4-5 mil per run and the standing loss isn't much. I'd imagine if you just attack a random one you'll lose tons of standing. I find even if you buy relics to gift to whatever race, they run about 100k per 1 standing so you're still making tons of profit. Plus if you want to be cheap you can just run the missions where you take out pirates.

picking it up gives the engine piece? what does shooting it give?

for all the sentinel barrels i have taken, if i hover on them for a second, it tells me what they contain... that's what i've gotten if i picked it up or if i shot it so i'm a little confused but i do seem to recall something about there being a difference...
