I was so happy when I found that out because the killing sentinels is so frustrating to me.
If you kill the big walkers tho be sure and shoot the cannister, don't try to pick it up. iirc that gives you the engine piece.
As others pointed out it is best to just use the economy scanner or jump to a player base with pirates.
Some of those missions cost too much reputation loss. By the time you kill 6-8 fighters at a loss for each then another 10 cargo pods at a loss for each.
I hit a nearby fleet after the missions and I must have lost a couple dozen points shooting all the floating cargo pods.
Was really lame and cheesy because nothing fought back except a few turrets. I think I made like 30 million selling all the illegal goods.
for all the sentinel barrels i have taken, if i hover on them for a second, it tells me what they contain... that's what i've gotten if i picked it up or if i shot it so i'm a little confused but i do seem to recall something about there being a difference...
