Is there a way to get dedicated server that my friend can play when im offline?
Or how does Multiplayer work, we want to play coop and build together

Actually, the game is P2P it doesn't have central servers.
You can play with your friend, but both have to be online.

Not sure what you mean? Think of the game like an MMO. You have separate characters. You can play together any time you want, and also play by yourself online.

The way the game is set up, someone allowed to modify your base can only do so while you are around. If you are not there, they have to work on their own base or do other activities.

There is no shared save. The MP in the game is very light. Essentially, you are playing by yourself together. The main missions can be done with another player, but it takes a lot of patience as each does the same step while the other watches. About the only benefit is you can share resources back and forth.

Yeah, NMS isn't like Minecraft in that way. The shared universe is hosted by Hello Games and we all connect to it when mutli player is enabled. Just add your friend to your friends list and you will be able to play together.

This isn't a mmo.
When you start with mp enabled, you get in an instance with 32 players. There are no central servers or a persistent world.
If you build a base with your friend, it has to be your base or your friend's base, it's never co-owned.
And the owner of the base has to be online for other people be able to keep building in that base.

Still good, i can build a base and he can build a base, when we are online at the same time we can play together

You shouldnt buy No Man's Sky with multiplayer in mind. Yes, you are able to play with friends, but it is just a side feature that has been added later. You can build together when you are both online, but with several bugs and syncerrors. You can do quests together, but with several bugs. You can fight together, but you get out of sync a lot.

Multiplayer should not be your motivation to play this game, because it wont be statisfying at all. It is a sinle player game with a multiplayer mod, that is very unstable. And as explained before, there are no servers, nothing persistence, you can just create a peer to peer connection to a friend and the game tries to sync as much as possible with the other players.

Imagine it like the multiplayer mod for Skyrim. Yes you can play Skyrim in multiplayer, but its an unstable mod and it shouldnt really be your motivation to buy Skyrim ;)
