How do u play the expedition?

Im not very far into the game so i dont know how that works, game gives no hints how to start it.
Is anything required for that?

expeditions are time limited. wait for the next one to be announced. when one is active, just start a new game and select the option “expedition”

Pick the very last option(called expeditions)
Enjoy expedition 6 "the Blight" which went live yesterday

Some rewards eared from the expedition can be redeemed on normal saves

Also don't miss the twitch streams as they reward you with in game items redeemable on all characters past present and future you need to find a NMS channel with DROPS ENABLED

One just started.

Otherwise yes, you have to make a new game for it.

You play the expedition by first off loading the game then wait for the main menu to open that says "play" and "multiplayer". When you click play, pick a new savefile and select to the far right the community expedition. The milestones tab that you normally have will be replaced by expedition goals, if you do those (any order is possible) all you will get all the expedition rewards.

Protip btw, turn off multiplayer and pvp. It gives framedrops and player interaction is unnecessary anyway, its supposed to be a lone game anyway.

Yes. Look at the milestones and plan ahead about what you want to do.

Yes and no. Yes as in it plays normal as anything but you get everything in accelerated way. Also you know some things in advance from the moment you make your character to speed up your progression. Most ppl just play expeditions for the rewards so they can use it on their main "character" saves. And this is why every time a new expedition comes out your new character gets "boosted" a bit to make this process faster.

If you have ever played games with "seasonal content" this is 100% the same. Games like diablo and path of exile for example.

what can i find in expedition ?

From what I have seen mostly cosmetic things and sometimes unique rewards like pets and stuff. This time for exp#6 the last reward is a cape (among others ofcourse).

I played the last expedition... can i just select that one or do I need to start a brand new one again?

Expeditions are timed, meaning once it expires you cannot progress through it again. Devs return expeditions though at the end of the year most likely, but then im not sure if you want to wait till that. Just assume that if you want something from an expedition, do it when its still up :P

I think they want to reward people playing regularly as those ppl can then show off their cool stuff or something. Anyway, at the moment of writing expedition #6 is up which means that right now you can only do that one, no other. Every expedition requires its own new save.
