Mission swapping by the game. Gamebreaker?
OK, so I have been playing for just under 1100 ours so do feel I have a litle knowledge of the game from back then till now.

What bugs me, in the past and now, is the fact that the game keeps swapping missions everytime it feels like it.
There is simply no locking in place what so ever.
If you are on a mission, land on a planet for some reason you suddely miss the mission point simply because the game changed the mission in the log.
At start its not a big deal but slowly its getting freekingly anoying.
As a player I choose the mission I wanna follow so why does that freeking game keep changing that all the time. There is absolutly no justification for that.

What also bugs me is the fact they changed the game in such a way that the anomaly is now the main station to get all schematics and such as it is a fast food station.
Why do that? Is that because you think the players are some braindead idiots or something?
In the past you had to atack numerous factorys and such to find your schematics and now its just a matter of popping to the anomaly and you are done.
Also the quest lines from the specialist in tyhe base are compromised for the same reason.
Lost of the stuff they ask you to do and give a schematic as reword has become useless.

We as a player group are not braindead we just like to play the game.
Now its a hap snap game for those that dont wanna do anything in the game and just wanna fly arround.
Where is the fun in that?

I can understand dev's brought in a pirate system but they went overboard with the numerous randome atacks.
Hell if I wanted an achievement on shot down sahips I hat to work for it.
Now I just fly arround and get about 10 kille per our handed to me sins the level of stupidity of the pirates is stunning.

I dont know about you but I think that overal the game is sinking despite the progress that has been made by fixing bugs and such.
The added game play does not even add up to what the game used to be.

Most storylines and missions are now broken due to the fact the Anomaly now has such a prominent place in the game. Honestly beleave the dev's went overboard there and ruinded the game on many levels.

They are trying to appeal literally to everyone, many people didn't want to mess with the main quest or grind for blueprints, so now they can buy them in the anomaly.

The best you can do is to refrain to use the anomaly and play under your own rules.
Players generally wanted easy, fast, and instantaneous gratification so HG delivered. You just have to figure out how to exist in that matrix.

We keep asking for control over the log, but so far we have had no relief. You just have to regularly check your log and reapply the mission you want active (sometimes on a minute by minute basis). I have had it change from the time I left the station mission giver to when I arrived at my ship in the bay. It is super annoying at time.
I don't do a lot of the main mission but it keeps popping up and blocking my cockpit view. Haha
Annoying, but certainly not a show stopper. You'll get used to checking it when the mission goes haywire.
To the first part, I agree 100%. The quest log glitchy like that and seriously needs a re-work. It's also a common complaint. To the second... I hated the story line missions, mostly due to your first point. I also thought the story line cheezy and found my self clicking through it as fast as I could! I'm glad they gave us other ways to get all the stuff. I'm mostly here for the base building and currently on my 8th save due to the construction limits. I would have given up long ago if I had to do the story line every single time!
I've only got 100 or so hours played but I'm totally with you on the quest log. Having it bounce to something else every time i get any sort of notification (or for no apparent reason at all) is a serious annoyance. I'd also like it to consistently display side project info like frigate mission or settlement building time countdowns. That stuff seems to pop up here and there, but when you really want to see how much time is left on something it never seems to be available in your log.
Adding an optional way to play the game is not game breaking at all. It's totally in your control if you decide to do the main quests or bypass any or all of them.

A far as the game switching quest, there is nothing random or at a whim to it. If you finish a quest it changes to the first one in the list. If you pick up an item to install it switches to that in the log. Totally understandable.
I tend to agree with the Mission Log Mess. I Liken it to Riding a POGO Stick Through a Ball Bearing Factory that has had a Major Spill...

You think it only happens when you have finished a quest. You could not be further from the truth.
As example, even seen it on twitch happening to others, you follow a quest line to a planet, see the marker where you have to land and if you do, the quest line is changed and the marker is gone.
You have to go back to the log to activate it again.
So yes, its randome and not understandable like you sugested.

Seconded. I have literally had one mission interrupted by several others at once. Insane.

Yes I know my 7000 hours in game means I know nothing... LOL...
agree, mission objective jumping is very annoying.

btw, anyone have any idea why it is still impossible to just have option max amount of something, when buying or doing other things? or write down precise number, instead of keeping mouse down for half minute?

Use the C key for a 50% split
That quest that leads you to pirate systems, that starts by finding some random abandoned space ship in space - the game would keep changing to that quest constantly. Really, every five seconds it would switch back. I simply wasn't able to track anything else unless I had progressed that quest further.

A simple solution to this could be that the game would simply display all or multiple quest markers. Of course then they either have to limit the normal (not pirate) bounties you can totally have in your quest log - or let that be a player choice/setting.

However, some quests apparently cannot be progressed unless you have them active. Like the Base Computer Archive one. Pretty sure unless you specificially select it your base computer will not progress it when you interact with it.

The < arrow sets number to max, and counts down from there on hold.
