Capital vs System Freighter? Should I hunt for one?

I have an S-Tier System Freighter with 3 tech ubercharge slots like next to each other.

So I'm wondering if there's any difference, besides well cool points. I mean my System Freighter has only 2 laser turrets but they won't even be used, I tried it lol fighting pirates next to my freighter, a Combat Frigate will be deployed, but the Freighter itself seems to be only for well Cargo.

So would there be any benefit for me to change, besides that those capital ships look super awesome?

Capital ships can have more slots that a regular freighter.

There might be more things, but I can't recall anything else off had, but I wouldn't be surprised if other stats were better.

Capital freighters have more starting inventory slots than system freighters. If I found a good S-class system freighter, I would add the slots and then its just as good.

Ah cool, so I just keep my cargo upgrades for now, they only spawn in random encounters right? Those where you have to kill pirates. I mean mine is fine for now, I assume I'll eventually encounter one again. I think they can not be just bought like regular freighters or I at least didn't find them, except im those battles.

You can buy it like others. In last expedition, all milestone system had 1 or 2 capital freighter around the space station. The more I seen was 140-150m for a class A.

Yeah, you can, but that's because other people were around generating them. It may help, but doing the usual grinding mentions is likely best for getting a Class S.

Well I found an S-Class Capital but it didn't have the supercharged slots next to each other like my Freighter has so I just skipped it, for maximzed range of warping which is what I like. I feel like for me it's not really worth it to hunt even with the usual methods as it gets quite annoying. Plus, I spent hours on the interior and I like the look. I think in another run I go capital. Thanks for your input

Huh, so basically there's no reason for me to switch as I like the layout of the ubercharged module spots and I like the look of my freighter, so basically capital freighter is just fancy

Capital freighters are much larger on the outside too, but yeah aside from the look. No benefit from changing.

Yes, as long as you leave at least 1 item in the old freighters inventory, the game will ask if you wish to transfer the current inventory and base to the new freighter. Careful, if you empty the inventory you wont get that option and the base will reset. But yeah in your case looking for a different freighter is not beneficial unless you want a different exterior model.

I see I always assumed this would only count for well the cargo and not the interior base, now that's cool. I always have freighter fuel in my Freighter's Cargo so I should get that question. This also makes looking for freighters less stressful as I can still enhance my current interior.

Maybe I one day stumble upon a capital that suits my fance more. Who knows.
