Sentinel planet question
So I found one of those crazy sentinel planets. After defeating them, the pillar was revealed, but on another planet! What good is that, in the future I imagine that pillar will only deactivate the sentinels of the planet it is on, and not the planet full of gravitinos, right?

Yea that happened to me once and yes the pillar only worked on the planet it is on however i have found pillars on sentinel worlds so it looks to be only the odd planet that does not seem to have one.

I don´t think that there a pillars for corrupted sentinels on a dissonant planet (at least I never found one).that may be the reason why the pillar points to another planet..

It is random.

Yes, Dissonant planets CAN have sentinel pillars but there is also a chance that they won't, just like any other planet.

And yes, on a Dissonant planet, disabling the sentinels via the pillar will kill all the normal and corrupted sentinels so you can just harvest all their combat supplies whenever you find a Dissonance Resonator.

There are indeed Pillars on "Dissonant detected" planets.

OP: That "usually" happens on Aggressive Sentinel planets, at least for me.. and it happens a lot. What I've also experienced is: after visiting the marked Pillar if you go back and defeat the Sentinels again (you must reload your save) I would get a marker for THAT planet. You can also use a chart after you reload.

Yes, it is a dissonant planet. Back into the breach, boys... Combat with sentinels is so tedious. I don't have any problem at all with the drones and the robots, even the big one. But the damn doggies...

Paralysis Mortar FTW with the quads (and the corrupted spider-dogs).

Also, you can pretty much do Dissonant planets (sentinel ship salvage) without even needing to consider fighting the sentinels if you have Echo Locators, which can be farmed from the Dissonance Resonators from a safe distance with a combat scope and a Blaze Javelin:

You can get Dreadnought AI fragments (effectively a map to a crashed Sentinel Interceptor) from mission rewards on the Nexus. Activating it will create a galactic map waypoint to a Dissonant system for you.

Once on a Dissonant planet (assuming it is not dead or exotic), destroying Dissonance Resonators has a chance (about 30% from my experience on Survival max difficulty) to drop an Echo Locator which will mark a "Harmonic Echo" campsite with a Sentinel weapon cabinet and a repeatedly farmable spike locator. Put down a save beacon at the camp site. Use the Harmonic Interface terminal to search for Dissonance Spikes. This will mark the nearest Interceptor crash site. Once you claim that wreck, return to the campsite save beacon and repeat. The most I have farmed from one so far is 6 locations before it returned me to the closest one again. Once one campsite is exhausted, fly away (I normally go to the opposite side of the planet) and use another Echo Locator to mark a new campsite and repeat the process.

All Sentinel ships on that planet will have the same design but will be RNG class (including possible S class) and will have random tech modules including Teleport Receivers and Cargo Scan Deflectors.

Well this is quite timely... the reverse happened to me:

An entirely new sentinel planet, defeated them, this time I got no pillar marker, on this planet or any other... :steamsad: might it be that HG "fixed" the exploit?

There have been no game updates, nothing has changed regarding Sentinel behavior.

If the Sentinels you defeated were:

1: Corrupted Sentinels, you either get the location of a Sentinel Interceptor... or nothing if there are no Interceptor ships on that planet.
2: Normal Sentinels; are you in an Abandoned/Uncharted system (has "X" for dominate race on discovery tab)? <- If neither then is was a bug

Had an interesting one earlier:
A system with two Dissonant planets (this is only the 2nd time I've had that, so far).

1st one was an exotic ("Contoured") planet so I assumed it would give me nothing when I defeated the five swarms, but it actually gave me a map marker on planet #2 for the Interceptor crash site. I was pleasantly surprised.

Yes the system got those X's. Is that why there isn't a station either? What else can I expect in those systems (pirates?)

The wiki does a good job and you can toggle between Abandoned and Uncharted to compare the two:

Just my luck. All I want is a nice little pillar to place an itsy-bitsy base alongside it and be able to return whenever I want. :steamfacepalm:
